I have a few big programs running off a external hard drive ( Like Corel Draw suite) I went to start the program today, by clicking Start/programs (C drive shortcut) But it said it couldn't connect. My hard drive used to be called G: , but I noticed today its called "Hoppy Label/:H" now. How could it turn from G to H... Should I delete correl and re-install, or can I fix this?

You can change the letter assigned to a drive by right clicking the drive and going into properties. I would not, however, run programs off an external drive for such a circumstance.

You could have a virus on that hard drive, run a scan on it.

Do you have multiple external hard drives or external media that is connected? If so the boot order may have changed, which can in turn assign a different drive letter.

Yes, I have a camera, printer, mouse etc... All running on USB , I guess you nailed it. My girlfriends computer downstairs did the same thing...

Thanks for the rep but the devices you listed wouldn't effect it. The ones that would would be more like an external burner or a media card reader. Scott I went to give you some rep for your answer but it won't let me bud sorry. I do fully agree with Scott though because this will cause a lot of un-needed spooling of the hard drive thus decreasing the life of the hard drive.
