OK so I have been having brown discharge. I am not supposed to start my period for 14 days but two days ago I woke up and had light brown discharge. I had so much I had to use a tampon but it was thick in fact it was very thin and runny (gross I know). The next day it went away and I didn't have any at all but I did have tiny cramps (which is weird for me because usually cramps send me to the hospital I get them so bad) But sure enough today when I woke up it was back and I haven't had cramps but I feel like I have a lot of pressure inside of my uterus. I am almost 18 and on the pill. I know that a lot of girls have it when they are young but I have been having my period for 7 years and I have been on the pill for just over a year and a half and I have never had this happen before. I am currently sexually active with my fiancé. I was wondering if anyone has any info of why this is happening? I know I don't have an STD so you can rule that one out. Please help me!! I'm really scared!

Did you miss taking your pill with 2-3 days within the discharge? If so you probably just got your period early, because brownish discharge sounds like period blood to me.

OK thanks for the replies! I went to the doctor and found out that it was because my birth control wasn't high enough for me anymore. Apparently my body had gotten used to the type of pill I was on so I got on a new one and my life is back to normal. I still have a while before I start my period and although my doctor tested me to see if I am pregnant (it was neg) she told me to call her once I started my period just so we know that it isn't early implantation bleeding.
