For the past 2 weeks I have been having pains in my left groin. The pain has been progressivley getting worse. When I wake up the pain is actually in my knee and then moves to my groin shortly after moving around. When I sit down the pain moves to the top of my left thigh. I am not sure what his could be. Any help would be appreciated since it does not seem to be getting any better.

What comes to mind off the top of my head is gout.
If it is not strained or something that is what it could be.

Check with a dr
In the meantime
Cut out any alcohol, meat, gravy, rich foods,

Eat more grains and fruits and vegetables

Gout Diet: Foods To Avoid (http://arthritis.about.com/cs/gout/a/foodstoavoid.htm)

Buy some cherries and dark cherry syrup and eat/drink it as much as possible.

If it is gout it should help subside it and you should notice the difference in a matter of days.

That could be it. I have been eating terribly during this holiday season and I have been drinking more than usual also. I have never had a problem with my toe or any gout before. But maybe it started in my groin\leg for me. Thanks for the reply.
