Hi my name is kenny I am 21 years old and last Sunday I bit the left side of my tongue quite hard and I really didn't make much of it cause I thought that it would heal overtime but as the days went on I got really sick I had a sore throat and a fever, so I went to the doctor they gave me medicine for my head and some antibiotics for my throat. So I started taking my medicine ontime and correctly and eventually I noticed that I had thrush on my tongue where I had bit it so I told the doctor and all they said was I had to keep on taking my antibiotics, and the thrush would go away it's been like five days now and it's still there how can I get rid of it? It's literally ruining my life, I started feeling sick on last Tuesday and my sore throat and fever went away but not the thrush, can anyone give me some good advice?

How long a period are you supposed to be on antibiotics? I wouldn't expect a lot of improvement until you are much farther into treatment.

The thrush may clear up on its own and just be annoying for awhile, or it may need some help in the process. You may want to ask your doctor about taking some acidophilus, either just from eating some plain yogurt (no sugar as the yeast will feed on that), or from an actual capsule of it. The antibiotics can help your throat, but it can also make the thrush more likely to be an issue. Definitely complete your course of antibiotics, but do consider adding acidophilus to the mix.

I know how much longer I am suppose to be on the antibiotics but I only have 20 tablets in the bottle, and I'm not sure how I got this I never had it before, after I bit my tongue that's when I got the infection, and it's on the spot where I bit my tongue.

Are you sure it is thrush? Did the doctor confirm it? The antibiotics can make thrush more likely to occur as well... certainly won't help, as antibiotics will alter the bacteria in your mouth. Always a good idea to eat yogurt daily when running a course of antibiotics.
If it is thrush, it may not clear up until you are done with the antibiotics... this is why the yogurt, or the acidophilus can be helpful during your treatment.
