Did you file for a modification when you became unemployed? If not then yes they can take any and all of it to pay your current and back support. If you did file for a modification then you should still have a little left but in most states if you are in arrears they can take up to 65% of your money. If you need more money then you will have to get another job.

Let me make sure I understand this - you are paying both current and back child support (you didn't pay Court ordered support for some period of time) and now you are on unemployment?

Have you filed for a reduction in support based on changed circumstances?

I don't know where you are but in some States the monthly/weekly amount you are paying for back support remains the same but the ongoing support is reduced.

If you income is less now, you can request that the amount to be held out be reduced. But you can expect them to take a large part of it most likely

The short answer is no. They can't take it all. You need to find out what your States maximum limit is. Usually follows federal guidelines of no more then 50% for reguler child support and 65% if arrears are involved.
