Some lyrics as I hear them:

Windowsill, my elbow's numb
As I heard the door go and saw your car
As it glides onto the road
Double wasted dumbness
Sodding off and I can't hear you go
And that's typical

There you sit in the driving seat
And your teeth chew gum
Though your lips don't move.. .

It's nearly 4, and I can't see your car anymore
So I close my eyes with my eyelids.. .

So ill-prepared to make a fuss
And that's typical of us.

You were right! It's called "Typical," and it's by Frazier Chorus.

I had so much trouble finding a copy of it... and it's pretty bad quality, too, unfortunately.

Good luck! Hope this helps.

I guess I am probably far too late to be of any help but the answer to the question is:-

Frazier Chorus and it is from the album Sue. Very hard to find on CD.

Their follow-up album, Ray, is equally brilliant, by the way.
