I've just come home from the doctors, it was a very embarrassing problem, for me about discomfort and irregular periods. (I've just turned 18, and never been to the doctors for anything like this before).
He said it could be a number of things but he could examine me straight away to check if "everything was in the right place".
He told me to lie down and he put his fingers inside of me and started pressing hard on my stomach. This lasted for about 10mins, he was using his fist on my stomach and pushing his fingers in and out of me.
It still hurts, should it?
He didn't give me an answer he just said to come back in a week for a further examination.
Any suggestions to what the problem might be? Please help, in a lot of pain.

The discomfort you are feeling is common. What the doctor was doing was feeling your uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. He was making sure evreything was in the position it should be in as well as in a healthy condition.

If this was your first time, as you said, the discomfort should only last today. If you can take tylenol, I would suggest you take a couple to help ease the discomfort.

As an older woman, I am 41, I have had this done yearly since I was 18. I do remember the discomfort, but it gets lessened with time.

That is what we are here for.

Also, don't be surprised if you see a little spotting, that is normal too.

Good luck, and good gal for making sure you are getting your female exams done.

Sorry for being a pain, but my boyfriend came round later, he is a few years older than me and he wanted to get intimate, I was still a little sore and told him I couldn't. He said I shouldn't be so soft, and should get on with it -were his terms. Its just made things worse, now I feel inadequate and not good enough.

Well, that certainly is not true! You are good enough, you are smart enough to know you need a yearly physical and if he cannot understand that he is the one who is not good enough.

If he says it again, give him your terms - have a doctor stick his had up his penis and press around on his stomach and see if he feels like being intimate!
