I live in Tioga County, New York and I'm seeking any help or advice regarding a Suspended and expired license.
I'll explain- In 1993 I was arrested for DWI. I went to court and plead guilty (I was). I was ordered to attend Driving Classes, Fined and received a Suspended license. I attended all classes, paid my fines and court fees. I however, never knew what to do to reinstate my license.
To be honest, I have not driven or had a car for years, No way could I afford insurance. But, I would now like to know how I'd go about getting my license back. Could anyone please help. Thank You

I recently talked to someone who went through this. Now I don't know all the details--by a long shot--but he had to take the written test, attend the mandatory 5hr. Class, and take a road test. So, I'm thinking, start with the written? (After you get your learner's permit, they'll let you register for the class, and once you've taken the class, they'll let you schedule a road test.)

NYS should have notified you when the suspension was lifted. You'll have to go down to MV - I doubt you can get the info over the phone - and ask for your status. If your license was reinstated there's a possibility it's still valid. If it expired and was not renewed, then you'll have to start the process for a new license.
I read your other posts - was this an arrest for driving while under the influence or DWI?
If it was not reinstated, then you have to check into why and get that corrected. Usually it's a matter of shuffling paperwork from here to there.
No way to know without checking with MV.
NY is user friendly (I'm actually in NY).
The fact that you may or may not be 100% disabled may change the procedure.
