My boyfriend is in the army, he's leaveing for Georgia on January 28th and won't be back till June 28th, we really want to get married before he goes, and we don't have the time or money to have a big wedding right now. So we want to go with a courthouse wedding, I been searching the net, on how much it is and if we need anything, and about witnesses.. but I keep finding meny different answeres.. so my question is.. WHAT IS NEEDED, HOW MENY WITNESSES IF ANY, AND HOW MUCH IS IT?

Each state and court house is different.

You will need a marriage license, and in some states a short counseling course. So you contact the clerk at the court and find out the rules on the marriage license.

Next each judge varies, in Cobb county GA for example, the judge has one time set each day ( in afternoon) There you can expect license and wedding to be about 200 for everything.

The clerk at your court can tell you when they do weddings and the cost.

Also most have a list of Pastors that do weddings in their homes or at your home or other locations

Well that's what I'm doing... You need 2 non family member witnesses. You also need to check with the Court house for marriage license requirements because either A they've changed in the past 20 years or B they're looking at the wrong state. Most of the time though it's bring a id and proof your not married if you were before and fill out some paper work.
