My seven month old daughter's biological father refused to sign her birth certificate because his family threatened to cut him from their will. Now he wants nothing to do with her and my fiancée is wanting to adopt her. We are unsure of whether her father even has any rights as he did not sign her birth certificate but still carries his last name. We need to know whether he has rigths and how exactly to go about him signing them over. We want our daughter to be raised with the same last name we carry and for her to feel as if she fits in where as she would notice the difference in her name and ours and feel outcasted in a sense. Would somebody please help us??

Of course he has rights, he may not get to use any of them till he proves he is the father by DNA tests. But after you are married for at least a year ( in most places) if the father will sign over his rights to allow the adoption there should not be any problem
