Ariens st824 tines not turning. I checked belt it seems fine. When engine is started and lever is pressed I definitely smell something burning. We got a good storm up here in northern Michigan. Third use this year but this time I was trying to move heavy drifts that were a tall 2 feet high. All snow was removed from tine and shute areas. Help please we are expecting a lot more snow this evening and through the week. THANKS

Snowblower can not handle heavy weight, causes belt to stop moving and start burning, no serious belt damage. "What is the problem with the blower clogging under medium snow loads?

I would need a little more info. Check for contact with the shields, should be audible! There is also a shearpin on snowthrowers that can throw the rotor out of balance if broken; should know of contact with a hard object.
