I have a Carrier heat pump. Outdoor unit is a model 38yka030300, indoor unit model
40yr030300 with a model t874r1384 (hh07aq170) thermostat. The thermostat is wired as follows:

Terminal color wire
O orange
W2 blue
C brown
E white
G green
R red
Y yellow
L no wire connected

I purchased a new Honeywell TH8320U1008 thermostat with the following terminals:

Terminals
L
E
AUX
RC
R
O/B
Y
G
C
S1
S2

Can you please tell me which wire to connect to which Honeywell terminal?
Thanks in advance for your help.

This cross ref chart should help identify what those wires are to your carrier.

So I think you want:

O orange -> O/B (be sure function 0190 is set correctly)
C brown -> C
G green -> G
R red -> R with RC jumpered
Y yellow -> Y

W2 blue and E white -> Aux and E but without knowing where those wires go it is impossible to tell from here.

S1, S2 is for outdoor sensor, which you should probably install to fully use this tstat. Might be nice to wire up L if there is a terminal fault on your system.

Be sure functions 0170 is set correctly. Check all other functions and read the manual carefully before you install.

I generally recommend you wire up power first and test; then fan G and test, then aux heat and test; then heat and cool.
