How do I replace the relay in my carrier series 101 HVAC unit to stop it from continually running even when in the off position? Other postings said I may have a sticking relay that will need to be replaced. Is this something I can do myself?

Thank you

If you have the skills find and replace the blower relay. In most cases this will stop the blower from running all the time. I am sure you already checked the thermostat to make sure the fan was not in the ON position?

Do the relays just pull straight out of the circuit board? Where can you purchase new relays?
I have removed the cover and yes when I tapped on the relay I could see a spark then the unit shut off. It is working okay now but this is the second time in a month that this has happened.

Thanks

You have to replace the circuit board. Those relays are not usually available. There are also stand alone relays in HVAC units but in your case if one is defective and soldered on the circuit board you have to replace the entire circuit board. Sorry but that is the way they are made.

Parts available at a local Carrier dealer.
