View Full Version : Hair dying disaster!

I went to my hairdresser recently and she did the normal routine - roots and lowlights
(My hair tends to turn reddish, so I get lowlights as opposed to highlights) For some reason everything turned red - so now I'm pretty much all reddish which I hate. My normal hair color is dark brown, but I have quite a bit of grey so I have to color.
She put in highlights, which ended up being too light. She then put in a toner which basically toned down the highlights to nothing. I was pretty exasperated, so I went to a different hair dresser, who did a salt water type of treatment on my hair - she put on the mixture, put me under the dryer on high for 15 minutes and washed it out. It took out the toner on the highlights, but they were then tooooooo light! The rest of my hair looked good except the highlights. We both thought it should just be a bit darker, just a bit, and I stressed to her that I don't want to go orangy/red. Well, I did, and I'm freaking out! I thought she put a toner on, which is easier to get out, but she put on a semi-permanent color, with a silver hue to it! Why I don't know! So now my hair looks almost black, with very unnatural looking reddish highlights. It's really quite disgusting! I shampooed with Prell, and the Red is now turning an almost dark salmon color! If I go back for another salt-water treatment, will it remove the semi-color she put in, or does it just work on toners? I'm really stressing out! Any advise, suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

If it's the semi you want to remove then use an artificial colour remover.
The most popular one is Colour Oops. But you may need to use it several times to remove all the colour.

Good luck!
