Chances of becoming pregnant if missed the first two pills of the pack? Then doubled up the next day?
Why?

If you have been on them for awhile before missing the two, chances are fairly slim as you will still have some protection. As there is always a chance, however, even when used 100% correctly, you will just have to wait and see. In the meantime, continue taking them as directed.

The answer concerning 2 pills was given to you and then someone else gave that answer the heads up.

Why? "There are two basic kinds of hormonal birth control pills: (1) the combination pill which is made up of two synthetic hormones (estrogen and progestin) and (2) the progestin-only pill (sometimes called the minipill). The synthetic estrogen in the combination pill works to prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg. If no egg is released, there is nothing to be fertilized by sperm and the woman cannot get pregnant. In addition, the synthetic estrogen works by suppressing the body's normal hormonal pattern (which involves one egg being developed per menstrual cycle and released for possible fertilization). "

You skip a pill or two, the egg is released, you are "pregnant," as you said.

Missing pills isn't good because it can lower the effectiness of the pill. Also, when taking the pill it is best to take it around the same time each day. So you have to find a set time to take it each day and even leaving a reminder for yourself so you won't forget.

So, you have two options: you can either find out a way to take that pill every day without fail, or you can talk to your healthcare provider about switching to a method which is going to be a better fit for you. Additionally, no matter what method you use, your boyfriend can share the responsibility of birth control with you by backing up with condom use.

When I was using a birth control method I used deprovera because I use to forget to take the pill so I talked to my doctor about other methods available.

How long have you been taking the pill because that can play a part in it too? Whatever you do don't start your pack late or forget taking anymore pills.

Also, did you have protected sex especially on the days you forgot to take your pills?

I have heard about deprovera, maybe that's the best route for me to choose. I have been taking the pill for about nine months probably now, and I won't start late anymore. I don't even know how I did it two days in a row - I usually take it religiously! I had another post with more detailed information about it but unfortunantly it was deleted for one reason or another.

Also, no I had unprotected sex throughout the month, and now looking back I was just thinking maybe I should have been more cautious. Weather or not I'm pregnant, I will take complete responsibility, so it's not going to be terrible if I am. Me and my boyfriend decided before having sex that if anything were to happen we would be able to take 100% responsibility for it - emotionally, mentally, physically as well as financially. And we held off on sex until we were able to do so.

Anyway, thank you for your response! I appreciate it!

I think it is good that you and your boyfriend had the "what if" talk but even though your using a form of birth control condoms should still be used because with the two you have a better chance of not getting pregnant.

You can always talk to your doctor about deprovera because like everything else it does have it side effects and it vary women to women but I like it.

First JKHO1 please stop sayig you are sorry or complaining about Judy who did not do anything and has no idea about 1/2 of the things you posted.
I am one of the moderators, and I deleted your other post as a duplicate. Its answers were suppose to be moved to this thread when the delete happened.

I have also deleted about 1/2 of the posts on this thread since they did not relate to the actual question.

We are glad to have you here, we hope you enjoy the site, but learn when to stop complaining esp when you are totally unaware of the real facts.
