I think you might be measuring democracy on your one experience. You should really study it a bit more, rather than make a decision on this one time experience.
It sounds like you are new to our country. First, let me say welcome! Can I ask why you came to this country? What were your reasons?
I've never lived in a socialist country, so I only know it in theory. But here is how I see it. You and I are students in a class. You get an A grade and I get a C grade. Our teacher gives us both a B.
I love America and I'm thankful for our freedom of speech, religion and our liberties. Granted, there are some messed up things in our government, frankly it's in every government... but America to me stands for freedom.
Have you ever seen the movie "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson? It's a hollywood's take on the beginnings of our freedom as a country.

I want ask you americans why you use democracy when democracy very bad. It is nonsense, why you not use socialism? Hello chang:
With socialism, you can't get rich. We LIKE being rich. Having a nice Mercedes Benz to drive is very cool. Eating the best food is really nice. Living in a beautiful house is VERYYYYYY comfortable. Calling your friends on an Iphone is ALSO very cool. Traveling the world is a lotta fun. And, there's more.
You can't do any of those things if your country is socialistic.

Hello NK:
Sweden is MORE socialistic than the US is - but it AIN'T a socialist country. If it were, there wouldn't BE any rich people. RICH is an anathema to socialism.
I don't think there ARE any socialist countries.

In a democratic society, you as a person are free to make decisions regarding your life, work family. A free democratic society allows a person to work hard and make more money to better support their family. They are free to live where they want and to have as many children as they feel they can afford. You are also free to buy and sell property as you choose. A democracy places the responsibility of government on you. You are allowed free choice to vote for the best person you feel will represent your best interests to the government. A democracy allows me the freedom to ask this sort of question without being punished. It is not only our right but our responsibility to question the things out Government does. I could go on, but I hope you get the idea of how important this form of government is.

Yep, that's right. How would a state run company appear on a list of richest people??
