Hi there,
What are the exact steps I press on a calculator to do the following: -
40e-0.05
I keep getting the wrong answer? Any help is appreciated

Try pressing e then open bracket then minus then zero then point then zero then five then close bracket then equals. Then take that answer and times 40.
Though I all depends on the model of the calculator. Consult the manual too

The question is -40e-0.05 right? First, you have to locate e on your calculator. It'll most likely be a second function. Press the second key, press the button with e as a second function, times it by -40, and subtract by 0.05.

Many calculators will only calculate e to a certain power. If that is the case (like on a ti-83), press the e button, enter a 1 in the parentheses for the exponent press the multiplication key, enter 40, and subtract 0.05. It may help if you post what type of calculator you what, and whether it is supposed to be minus 0.05 or e to the -0.05 power

In your calculator press shift then alpha (a) which means alphabet. Press a letter e followed by -0.05 (45e - 0.05)
