Ok so here goes, moved a Modular home from one farm to another, it had a Frigidaire 96k BTU furnace in it on Nat Gas. We bought the proper conversion kit, new orifices and new spring for LPG conversion. Installed as per instructions.

Run a manometer on the inlet side of the valve and recorded about 12 inches, which we will go back later and adjust up if required.

However the furnace won't light. The fan starts, then the ignitor comes on and glows then after several seconds you can here the gas valve click and two seconds later you can here it click off and then the igniter goes off.

We have checked and bled the gas all the way to the inlet side of the valve, we have checked for voltage across the gas valve when it triggers it is 24Volt +/-.

We have placed the manometer on the output side of the valve and we record nothing, no pressure at all. We have tried all possible configurations of input pressure and adjusting the pressure setting on the valve.

We just tried replacing the gas valve and we get the same result, exactly the same result.

It is like the gas valve is not opening, does anyone have any suggestions cause I am stumped. I suspect the circuit board but they don't have one in stock so before I order one, I want to kind of be sure that is the problem. Lastly we live several hours from a major center and no plumbers.furnace installers want to come out.

Help.

Thanks
Walter

The conversion kit for the gas valve was either the wrong one or it was not installed correctly. The valve clicks to open but the kit which regulates pressure is not allowing the gas to pass or gas to pass in sufficient quanity.

If you are a professional HVAC service person your will figure it out after you look it over well. If you are a homeowner I suggest you find a more knowledgeable person to service that unit. I hope the install of the tank was done by a professional. The tank, primart valvr, outside mandatory house regulator, and other components have to be installed correctly also. Propane is not forgiving like natural gas. Propane pockets unlike natural gas that floats away. Propane not installed correctly can go BOOM. I only say this to give you fair warning to treat propane with respect.

NOTE make sure the orifice you installed is drilled correctly(use drill bit size number to confirm) and open not plugged.
