View Full Version : I Don't Think I Like My Boyfriend

He was originally my friend. I used to like him and when I found out he liked me I started feeling weird about it -- like I could only picture him as my friend and nothing else. So, when he asked me out on my birthday (11/14 so we haven't been going out too long) I said "yes" because he was too nice to say "no" to and I kind of wanted to see how this would work out. But... he's not the guy I want to date. I'm kind of like in love with his best friend. Anyway, he definatley likes me wayyy more than I like him. The things he says to me reminds me of the things Edward Cullen from Twilight says. People say I'm so lucky to have a boyfriend like him but they're not the ones who were just friends with him before all this. Whenever I talk to him it's awkward. I don't know what to do. I don't want to hurt him but I don't really want to stay with him. What should I do? Thanks.

Tell him how you feel and get rid of him. You are stringing his emotions along, and the longer you keep this going the more it will hurt him, especially when he finds out you actually like his friend and not him. There is no point in being in a relationship that both people don't want to be in.

Be honest that you don't like him more than a friend. Explain why you said yes in the first place and tell him that you didn't have feelings for him anyway. And if you absolutely have to mention that you like his friend, be tactful about it. He'll be going through enough without being backstabbed by his friend, so let him get over the break up first. Honesty is most definitely the best option in this situation.

I would definitely tell him how you feel like kctiger said. In this situation, being that you've only been together a little bit (if you want to remain friends since you were anyway) you could tell him that you think you'd like to just be friends. I've been in that situation before where one of my best friends and I decided to start dating. In this situation it was awkward for him but since we were friends for so long before we started dating, we just went back to being friends.
