My upstais bathroom sink drain is draining really slow. I've tried everything ffom drano to an auger but nothing works. I've even taken off the u-shaped pipe and made sure that was OK, and I also tried to snake the pipe coming from the wall. I have a very old sink and I think there is a drain pressure problem, because I've noticed that the water will go down in the sink eventually but even after a couple of days it will just sit in the u-shaped pipe. Any suggestions how to fix this will be greatly apprieciated.

The U shaped pipe is the trap and should always have water in it.
How far did you run an auger into the pipe? Since this is the upstairs bath you may hve to use 25 foot or more of cable to get to the clog.
Take the trap off and run the snake down the pipe that comes out of the wall.

Take the "J" bend apart,(see image) and run a snake up into the wall.(see image).
You will rrun into a bend about 8 inches in but once around that you only have to put out 6 more feet. Flush with hot water once you have installed the trap. Good luck and thanks for rating my answer. Tom
