I bought 3 ceiling fans at home depot all Hampton Bay brand. Till then I had never heard of an intermediate bulb.
At a website I just came from several people were stating the built in dimmer and fan speeds would burn out if CFL's were used in ceiling fans. Is this true?:confused:?

The CFL's must be dimmable. Not all are.

It depends.

If you are talking about remote fans, you will have to use dimmable CFLs. If they are not remote fans, any CFLs are fine.

Do they make dimmable candelabra base CFL's?
