Hi Guys,

I'v just registered with this forum and I just want to know if anyone has used Melederm and got results from it as I have just purchased my first jar and I don't want to get my hopes up only to be disappointed. I've done a bit of research on the product and found some promising reviews, has anyone here used it yet?

Don't get your hopes up. I did some surfing and can't find a single good review of the product.

... of course all the sites that sell it say it's great...

Hey Littlegenie. I've used their product with some success. Some people say its good, others not so much. You might be able to find some more info on if you search for "Whiter skin" which is the name is used to go by. I found a couple of reviews at http://www.smartskincare.com/reviews/product/functionidx/lighten/

Best of luck to you.

I have only been using it for a couple of days yet, so its too early to tell if its working. But for the benefit of other members of this forum I have taken a 'before' picture so I can show you guys the difference after a few weeks.
I'll keep you posted.;)

Littlegenie,

Well let us know how it goes. If you do not mind me asking what is your ethnicity, skin tone color, are you using any products along with melederm? I recently got an email from civant saying if you buy one you get the another jar for free. Also that they are discontiuning the melderm cream in a week and replacing it with toners, exfoliaters, etc. It beens 3 to 4 weeks now. I do not think they are discontuining the line.

There product or there line used to be called "Whiterskin" and now they have completed changed there marketining stragery. Whiterskin was for skinlightening and now they say its not for skin lightening (only to get rid of tan, discolorations).

Check out this board a lot of members using this product: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/brighterskin/

I'm on their mailing list too. I think that offer was for the lightening lotion not the cream. I bought the lotion back when it was whiterskin and didn't have any real results with it. The cream however worked to lighten my face a few shades.

I have asian skin, a little darker maybe than olive skintone. I don't necessarily want to lighten a few shades, I just want even skin tone. I have dark circles around my eyes too and I'm hoping this cream will help get rid of them.
The only other product I'm using alongside it is my usual moisturizer by Olay.

What was your before skin and now after? How long did you use it for? Did you use the whiterskin formula or the melederm fomrula?

Hi... I am too like you, I have dark circles under my eye and round my mouth... can I use this product? I am indian... so brown skin colour. And I don't want to go lighter all over I just want even skin tone too but what happens if I just apply cream to the areas that are pigmented will it go lighter than other parts of my face... oh why is it so confusing! Does any one know the long term effects of these creams. And does anyone know of any creams that actually really really work. I think the sun has made my skin loads of different colours!

I have certainly noticed that my skin is in better condition during these last few days, I don't think its any lighter though. Only time will tell... I'm going to resist taking any more pics until after 3 weeks of use. I love the cream though.. its not greasy and feels very moisturizing. If it does turn out to be a glorified moisturizer, I'm going to be very... very P****d off.
One thing I'm worried about is that IF I do get lighter, my dark circles may stand out more. I'v had them all my life, but they weren't noticeable when I was younger... 4 children later, and going on 29 yrs... I look like a racoon.
I'v tried Hylexin and it doesn't work so don't be tempted to try it!!

Hi littlegenie...

Thank you for your reply to me, its much appreciated. I was hoping you could be updated about how it goes. I've also now noticed a darker area on my upper lip - I wax there so was wondering if that's got something to do with it? I'm getting really stressed out that my skin is going to keep getting worse and worse. I'm only 24, do you think everyone is searching in vain for skin lightening products because mainly on this site no one has really said yes this works for definite and the ones that have, everyone seems to question for self advertising. I don't mind spending a lot of money on sorting this out, so do you think I could go to a proffessional, like a surgeon or something because it's the only thing I feel insecure about and want to get rid of it more than anything in the world. Keep in touch, thank you x

Hi flawfull but hopeful,

Maybe you should try lightening the hair on your upper lip with a cream bleach or something instead of waxing. My upper lip skin also gets irritated if I try waxing it, I sort of break out in really painful spots with white heads so I never wax my face. Waxing shouldn't really make your skin darker but I guess everyone's skin reacts in different ways.
Like you I also feel that maybe these companies just want to make money out of women's insecurities, sometimes we believe only what we want to believe... whenever a new product is launched promising results that sound too good to be true, at a price that's rocket high, we think that because its so expensive it MUST be good and it MUST work... but sadly this is not the case on most occasions.
Maybe you should visit a cosmetic surgeon, especially if you feel so strongly about it... but just remember that there are other things to think about when going this route as some people end up looking worse after surgery. You need to be realistic about the results you want from surgery. Maybe you should consider something less drastic such as laser treatment, microdermabrasion or a chemical peel these treatments are mostly targeted at wrinkles so I'm not really sure if these will help lighten your skin.:)

You don't understand how nice it is to talk to someone who has similar issues - when I speak to my friends (who are all white) they say they can't see it! But I know my skin is changing all the time! My skin is also only an issue because I'm quite natural looking and don't wear too much make up/ I don't suit it and so my skin is ever more untoned. Now I obsess about being ugly when I get married! (ahhhhhhh!) about surgery - I only want to help my skin look more healthy I'm not planning on changing drastically - but because my skin is so important to me I want the best for it and would rather wait a little longer to find out facts and spend a little bit more money so it can be done properly. I'm hoping surgeons/ dermatologist would know how to solve these problems?! I'm just sceptical if any of these creams do work - how is melederm for you at the moment? Haven't you been trying it? There must be something out there for these problems surely especially as I've realised I'm not the only one - where are you from? I'm from the uk so there is less on inidian skin tones and how to eradicate skin problems here... thanks again for all your advice and help, its much appreciated!x

Hiya flawfull but hopeful,

Im also in the uk, I live in stoke on trent.
Although I am pakistani.. our ethnic skin tone is very similar, I tend to wear makeup everyday but purely because I hate the under eye darkness that I have.. if I didn't have these circles I probably wouldn't wear it. The rest of my skin isn't too bad for my age so I'm not complaining. And your right.. skin is one of the most important parts of our body... its the first thing everyone else sees and in my opinion its worth spending a few £££!! On.

I'm trying out Melederm because it was the only product I could find that didn't contain any harmful ingredients in it. I don't know if I'm imagining it but today when I looked in the mirror.. I felt that my skin looked brighter, but like I said before sometimes we only see what we want to see that's why I decided to take a 'before' picture so that I could compare it with an 'after' picture. Hey... the camera won't lie will it? If it don't work at least I won't be dis-illusioned, I'll have crystal clear evidence... and I won't bother buying another jar. Heheheheh!! ;)

I'm half white half pakistani and after seeing a picture of myself the other day I realized I really needed to even out my skin tone. I have some dark spots under my eyes as well as right above my nose and at first I decided to just get a tan to even it now but maybe lightening it would be better. Someone on another forum said C2 worked the best for them but I can't find it anywhere. Anyone heard of that stuff? I'm really not sure what to use. Guess I'll try that Melederm stuff.

Hey genie thanks for the link. That C2 stuff seems popular but kind of expensive. I think ill try out the melederm first. Basically I only have some discoloration on the bridge of my nose and under my eyes. If I use the stuff all over my face do you think I'll get an even skin tone? Or should I just put it on the dark areas? Id really like to put it all over my face but I'm afraid I won't get an even skin tone. Also can I use the stuff on the rest of my body. I got a little farmers tan I don't like =/

Hi raid192

If you use it all over your face then you will lighten the skin all over your face at the same pace, which means that the darker skin on your face will never catch up with the rest of your face. I suggest you use it just on the darker skin to start with and once you achieve the desired colour, start applying it all over your face.
I wouldn't suggest using melederm for your whole body because its only a small jar and it won't last you long at all... the jar is just enough to use on your face for a month. Trust me I know because I'm using it too... iv been using it for just over 2 weeks and half of its gone!!
I'm going to see what kind of results I get once I'v finished the jar and then decide if its worth buying again. The thing is that I can't afford to spend £32.00 ($49.99) a month just on my face. I think my skin is lighter but I'll know for sure from pics if its for real or if I'm imagining it!!
I'm thinking of buying a cream with 2% hydroquinone in to lighten my arms a little... I don't mind using it on my body but never on my face.

On the other hand if you would like to try a natural skin lightening/brightening method then mix a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder and a little gram flour, enough to make a paste. Apply this paste to the under-eye area, and wash off after fifteen minutes, Be careful though – the yellow colour of turmeric tends to stain the face, so do this before going to bed. And don't be tempted to add more than a pinch.

This worked a treat for me. You see lemon is a natural skin bleach. If you get skin irritation try not to leave the paste on for as long.

I for one can say that Melederm is a GREAT product. Though I do not use it anymore, I did in the past and it did exactly what it claimed. I even saw results within just a few weeks like they promised. The only downside was that I got a few breakouts in the first few days, but they disappeared after about a week. I think maybe my skin needed some time to adjust. Anyway, I would recommend you try it. Worst thing that could happen is that you will have to get a refund right?

Hi sharon1

I must agree with you... it is a great product. Even if it doesn't end up lightening my skin, its made it so beautifully smooth. I'v got combination skin and some parts of my face were always oily and shiny. But this cream is fabulous its got rid of all the shine while moisturizing at the same time, its also an excellent base for make-up. I'm tempted to carry on using it indefinitely!

Thanks Littlegenie for your help. What your saying makes perfect sense and I plan to follow it. It is ashame that the stuff goes so fast because I had planned on putting on the rest of my body to have a nice even skin tone. Though going by what you say, I'd probably end up using 10 jars. It's very unfortunate that the company discontinued their body lotion. I emailed the company about it and they replied that their customers reported much better results using melederm cream on areas of their body. Anyway I was wondering what your going to use on the rest of your body. I may just get a bunch of melederm so I'll have enough to put all over.

I used the old whiterskin formula. But I've read that melederm is actually better. I think my skin lightened 2-3 shades but I also noticed that it looks a lot more uniform in color. Like Littlegenie was saying, it does make your skin feel really smooth. I stopped using it because its too expensive for me to keep up. I've been using sunblock and moisturizer and my skin hasn't redarkened. If I notice any redarkening I might try the new version.

I hvnt seen no darkning either. I used it to lighten my whole face up and it was the best cream I tried so far. I went through like 2 tubs of it in the first month. Now I go easy and maybe put it on 2 or 3 times a week. My face is still nice and light. I just started using it on my chest and arms last week.

By the way I am a medium dark complexon. I get very dark in the summer but much liter in the winter.

Hi guys

I'v been using the Melederm cream for nearly a month now and I can definitely see an improvement in my complexion. Nothing drastic mind, but enough to make me feel confident enough to walk out without foundation. I feel my skin is more of a uniform colour.. I just dust some loose powder on my face and off I go! Its like your still the same old you.. but better, do you understand what I mean?
I think I will buy another tub to maintain my results... I still have a problem with my dark circles though and I don't think anything will be able to fix them.. :( I guess I'm going to have to think of a clever make-up trick to hide them.

Hi,
I have been the most fascinated with this specific forum. I have been researching the Civantskincare for a few days now. And I am so scared to try it. I don't like wasting my money, and most of all I don't like being dissapointed.
This actually isn't about me though, its about you Littlegenie.
I to suffer from dark circles. Mine aren't puffy or anything, but they definitely are purplish, and they are noticeable. I don't wear a lot of make up, in fact, I go a lot without make up, but whenever I want to look nice, I always find myself trying to cover up my bags with light compact powder (anything else makes me break out).
So what Im here for is to let you know that Civant Skincare sells this eye cream on their site. Its easy to miss if your not looking for it, but I think it would probably work, and I think you should look into it. It goes with the whitening cream, so you shouldn't have to worry about mixing products. Im not to worried about my bags, so Im not going to buy it. Its kind of expensive for a small little 0.5 oz jar. But you probably don't need much anyway cause its only for use under the eyes.
There is a deal though. Its buy 2 get one free. If I ever bought the stuff, that's what I would do, being as it is that the whole treatment is effective after about 12 weeks. And the buy 2 get one free is a 9 week treatment. You will see results in like 2-3 weeks, but the bags are supposedly completely gone after the 12 weeks. I got this information about the 12 weeks just by doing math according to the charts that were given to show the effects.
I know you said you were going to order some more of the whitening cream so maybe when you go on the site you can check out the eye cream. Here's the site I have been on, so you can check it out: http://www.civantskin.com/products.html

Im going to go with the $144 dollar bonus pack, that sells the eye cream and everything else as well. That way if I like it Im going to buy 2 more, and get the last one free, and that would be 12 weeks of treatment right there. And ill save a little by doing it that way.

Does anyone have any feedback to give me before I decide to spend my money on this product. I don't just want a clearer brighter complexion. I already have an even clear complexion. I just simply want whiter skin. Would you recommend this product for me? Or do you think I should use something else, if I want to be whiter. I am a medium olive, kind of like the color of a deeply tanned whiter person. Im actually lighter than some of my deeply tanned white friends. I want to go like 2-4 shades whiter, but just on my face, because its exposed to the sun the most.
Would you guys recommend that I use this product on my face to get whiter. Also little genie, do you have any before and after pics of your melederm experience.

Hi

I would recommend using this product because it does lighten the skin. Slowly but surely! It might take a long time if you intend to lighten your skin several shades and you must also keep in mind that what works for one person may not necessarily work for another.
I have some pics and I will try to post them soon, I want to wait until the lightening is significant enough to be compared with previous pics. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
And yes, I do know that the texture and color of the skin are highly significant factors when it comes to something like changing the color of the skin. Whether your tanning, or whitening.
That's why I asked you what color you were, what race you were, and another question is how easily do you tan? I tan in within minutes of being in the sun, but when I stay out of the sun, I get significantly lighter. But I still get affected by indirect sun... heat tans my skin just as easily, maybe not as fast or as much as direct sun, but it does. UVA rays are like the direct sunlight which I think is the cause of cancer and other skin problems, and UVB rays are the ones that penetrate deep into the skin causing tanning, and burning. UVB rays are the ones that are carried in the heat of the sun, and whether your sitting under an umbrella or in the shade under a tree, you may still get a fairly decent tan because of the UVB rays that are everywhere.
Sunscreen screens out UVA rays from causing cancer, but it still allows you to tan. And sunblocks (hence the word block) blocks out both UVA and UVB rays from tanning, and from harming the skin.
Well I don't know why I just wrote all that, hahaha, I guess I was just feeling informative. Anyway, I appreciate your feedback. I am looking forward to your results. Also did you find the information about the eye complex on Civant skincares website helpful. I hope so, and if you try it, I would also like to know your results.

Please don't waste your money on this product. It didn't work for me and after 30 days of faithful everyday use, I tried to return it and they wouldn't take it back. They want a postmark within 30 days after you get an RMA number from them. That means you don't have 30 days to try the product but more like three weeks. You have to wonder about a company who makes so many claims about a product and give you a hard time about a thirty day policy. Most other companies who have a very good product always accept returns because they understand a number things which I don't need to go into.Don't waste your money or time on this one. Please!

Hi,
I have been the most fascinated with this specific forum. I have been researching the Civantskincare for a few days now. And I am so scared to try it. I dont like wasting my money, and most of all I dont like being dissapointed.
This actually isnt about me though, its about you Littlegenie.
I to suffer from dark circles. Mine arent puffy or anything, but they definately are purplish, and they are noticeable. I dont wear a lot of make up, in fact, I go a lot without make up, but whenever I want to look nice, I always find myself trying to cover up my bags with light compact powder (anything else makes me break out).
So what Im here for is to let you know that Civant Skincare sells this eye cream on their site. Its easy to miss if your not looking for it, but I think it would probably work, and I think you should look into it. It goes with the whitening cream, so you shouldnt have to worry about mixing products. Im not to worried about my bags, so Im not going to buy it. Its kind of expensive for a small little 0.5 oz jar. But you probably dont need much anyways cause its only for use under the eyes.
There is a deal though. Its buy 2 get one free. If I ever bought the stuff, thats what I would do, being as it is that the whole treatment is effective after about 12 weeks.
Heres the site I have been on, so you can check it out: http://www.civantskin.com/products.html

Im going to go with the $144 dollar bonus pack, that sells the eye cream and everything else as well. That way if I like it Im going to buy 2 more, and get the last one free, and that would be 12 weeks of treatment right there. And ill save a little by doing it that way.

Does anyone have any feedback to give me before I decide to go ahead and spend my money on this product. I dont just want a clearer brighter complexion. I already have an even clear complexion. I just simply want whiter skin. Would you recommend this product for me? or do you think I should use something else, if I want to be whiter. The melederm cream is good to lighten the whole skin up. But for some reason when you email them asking about lightening your entire face or body, they tell you that its not meant for that but supposed to be just for lightening dark spots and stuff. Also, I don't know if the eye cream is as good as the skin whitener. The eye cream gave me a little stinging sensation and I think was too strong for my skin.

Solediscretion: I find it strange that they wouldn't take it back. I returned 2 jars of the eye cream to them and they took it back no problem. I used them both for more than 3 weeks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 30 days after getting an RMA number actually mean you have a longer time to try the product?

Anyway, flowerchildnea, I would say don't spend the money just yet on the entire kit. First of all you don't really need to use their toner and cleanser. If you're like me, you probably already have a cleasner and toner that you regularly use. Also the eye cream might be too strong for the skin around the eyes. I think just order the Melederm product since that's the best thing they sell. There is a eye cream called Teamine which I hear is really good. It's made by a different company and you can find it online by Google.

I just started using Melederm 9-10 days ago. I wanted to know what sunscreen do you recommend to use on top after applying the cream? I have noticed already that the acne spots on my chin and the dark "mustache" above my lip are getting lighter. Its only been 10 days so I am VERY happy so far! Right now I am using COTZ SPF 58 which blocks EVERYTHING. However, I really hate putting it on since it makes my skin look ashy and grey (I am medium dark skinned). If anyone has a recommendation to a sunblock that is both light and strong, please advise me! THANKS

Nikki,
I used to go to this website last summer. It "seemed" to be the best sunblock on the market... well from what Ive seen. It was the only SPF 100 that I had ever found, and not only does it completely block the sun, it also stops pigmentation. Here's the site: http://www.delivereddeals.com/biosun.asp
I tried buying some last summer, but I was never able to, because they were all out of stock. And sometimes to me when something's out of stock, that means its probably good.
But yeah. I recommend that you go to a doctor, or a dermatologist before finding a sunblock that's going to work with melederm. 2 chemicals sometimes don't do good things for the skin. I suggest that you try to stay out of the sun, as often as possible... unless you have to go in it. And if you do, you should find a "face" sunblock, for the face only. Those tend to be milder, and less greasy, but also less affective. Its up to you.

SO anyway, about melederm. Gosh darnit... Im hearing so many good stories, and so many bad stories. I don't have a toner or a scrubber that I use already. My face is already soft, and clean, and one toned. I just simply want to go whiter. I wanted to get the toner and the scrubber and th soap to ensure that I didn't use any chemicals, or harsh scrubbers that would counteract with the melederm. I like to use all of the same brand, especially when it comes to doing something drastic to the face.
But you guys are saying it doesn't work, and that's it's a waste. I seriously feel like crying. I finally thought there was hope, and now, I don't have any hope that Ill ever having the angelic complexion I once had. When I was a child, I was very light, but living in California, and being exposed to the sun for years, has darkened skin. Well for the past 3 years I have stayed out of the sun, and used sunblocks and umbrellas or hats to shield me from direct sunlight, and I have gotten back some of my natural color. I live in riveride, which is a desert, and even being outside when its hot can and does tan your skin. Especially if your me, and your skin is used to producing thousands of melanocytes, because of the climate I live in.
Im just tired of being upset with my complexion... it is praised to be light skinned. And I am... but Im not satisfied, I feel dark, and whether its mental or not, I know I would be happier, if I could just go a few shades.
But seriously, I don't think anything works. And if it does, then its bad for your skin like monobenzone and hydroquinone. I don't want to be WHITE like michael jackson, and I don't want to avoid the sun for the rest of my life. I want to have a natural fair skinned glow, and I want to enjoy the sun again. But I know I won't be able to, as long as I fear getting dark.

All of these products that do not have hydroquinone are not going to lighten your skin significantly (micheal jackson style LOL). They will make your face a couple shades "brighter". Usually if you just remember to put on a good sunblock every day your skin won't get darker. That is what I have been doing. The products do work but they just take time and patience.

I have had good results with Melederm (whiterskin) but of course it won't work for everyone. No product will work on every person's skin. We are all different. Also, I know their return policy is the best among all the big companies. Makari products are good but their website says they themselves will decide if they want to refund you or not... total bs!! And forget about Fair&Flawless customer support... they are the worst to deal with! The best customer support is actually Euoko. They seem very knowledgeable about their products. However, if you don't have that kind of money to spend, Melederm is the next best option in my book. When I emailed the Civant company about their return policy, they told me you can return it 30 days after it gets shipped to your house. Also the first time I ordered from them my package was left at the door by my mailman. I live in a prety busy apartment building where there is a common center area. I think someone had stolen my package so I emailed them and they sent me another jar right away.

Also remember that you have to keep applying the sunblock every 2-3 hours you are outside because it wears off after awhile.

Don't worry there is hope for you! :) You have to have patience. No natural product will make a big difference in just a few weeks (despite what they claim). You have to use it for at least 2 months to see good results!

Thank you Hindude,
You always seem to have the right thing to say. I just don't know how YOU have the time, patience, and money to put into all of these different products. Like... isn't it harmful to use all of these things?
I honestly just want to get 2-3 shades lighter... I will show pictures of my actual skin color, and the color I want to achieve.
This is my actual color (well I tend to look darker on camera to, so... kind of look at me as being a little lighter in the dark pic: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c330/cupcake2114/DSCN0655originalbobnea.jpg
And this is an altered pic of the color I want to achieve:

You don't by any chance work for melederm do you?
Do you have any before and after pictures? You said melederm turned your skin 2-3 shades whiter... so. Im assuming you would have taken pics.
How long did it take for you to achieve your desired look?
And... do you have to continuously use melerderm to maintain your results?

I don't work for them. But I was happy with their products so I tend to promote them when I talk on the forums. From your pictures, it looks like a reasonable change. Since you are black, you might want to also look at Makari products. They are especially made for African american skin. There is another forum on the net where people talk about makari and most of them say they have had very good results. A lot of them are also black... I don't know if I am allowed to post the link... What can do is email Makari in advance and ask them if you will be allowed to return the cream and get it in writing. They have a ton of different creams, so you can find that other forum, find out which is the best one. Good luck to you and let us know how you make out!

Hmm so I went onto the Makari website, and the first thing I noticed is that they talk a lot about skin "lightening" and not whitening.
I believe that there IS difference. Skin whitening is actually making the skin whiter by a few complexions, and skin lightening just brightens up (you maintain the same color, but you look more fresh, and clean) the skin. As I have said before, I already have clear, and somewhat radiant looking skin... (camera's do not do my justice) so I don't need a skin lightener, I need a whitener.
I don't have age spots, dark spots, white spots, NOTHING like that. I just want to be whiter, that's it.
While watching the video on the makari website I noticed that the 2 women talking are very dark, darker than me by about 3-5 shades. And they were talking about how they use the product, and how much they like it, and Im like... hmmm, they say they've used all the products, are they basically trying to show that this stuff only lightens the skin to achieve a more clear complexion. Because they obviously aren't light skinned at all. Here's the website with the video of the super dark women: http://www.makari.com/
I guess watching that was dissapointing, and knowing that they're products only have natural ingredients kind of makes me a skeptic.
I mean if you think about it... whitening the skin in itself sounds like a dangerous thing. I think of whitening anything, and I automatically think of bleach. So... if we want to whiten out clothes safely, why don't we just use natural ingredients to whiten them. Clothes are important to right?
I like the idea of natural "whitening" but it really doesn't sound promising any way you look at it. If you want to be whiter, chances are, your going to have to use chemicals, and just pray to god your face doesn't fall off.. right?
Ugh this whole process has been highly dissapointing, I don't want to use the chemicals, but it seems that if I want affective, and fast results, Im going to have to go with hydroquinone, or benoquin. Grrr.
Thanks for your help hindude, but your right... I am black (well jamaican and puerto rican) and its in my blood to be dark skinned (even though Im not, but that's because I stay out of the sun). I just want to stop the pigmentation process, and reduce melanin from froming, or slow it down, or whatever.
You never answered if you have before and after pics.
If you don't want to post them on here, you can always send them to my email.

I guess I will chime in here. Ive been using the civant/melederm/whiterskin products for a long time and I had really good results. The biggest change was at the beginning maybe one or two months into it. The change was big enough where people asked me if I was using anything to make my skin lighter. After the first few months the results slowed down and now even though I keep using it my skin color has plateaued. I still use it for the fear that my skin will go back dark if I stop. But even the summer there has only been a little bit of darkening from the sun.

Yeah I do believe that this product can give me results, but not the results I want, and not in the time that I want it in. I am a very impatient person, and I need something that's going to give me results after the first 2-3 applications.
I am a college student, and I do a lot of running around, from moms to bfs, to sisters, to school... and that requires me to be in the sun a lot. I need something that is going to allow me to feel confident in my car for hours, while the sun is beaming right on my face... NOTHING I have used yet (not even sunblocks) has given me that confidence. I don't just want to get whiter, I want to keep maintain it as well. And that's the problem with a lot of these skin whiteners, they just can't promise it all.
I guess Im being to picky when it comes to all of this, but if Im going to give my time, my effort and my money to this cause, it might as well be all I ever dreamed it to be. Or I would be better off just staying the color I am, and getting used to it.

Hi flowerchildnea,
I've been using melederm for a week now and I haven't seen any results yet but I'm hopeful by the end of next week I will see some results. Also I've been using extreme white on my back for acne marks I'm pretty fair and so any brown marks are very visible I've been using it for 3 days and I can see a very slight improvement cannot be certain it's the cream but I will confirm it in 2 weeks.

Best of luck I think extreme white will do for you but be cautious there is a reason why I bought one cream for my face and one for my body, extreme white contains hydroquinone 2% because I am afraid to use it on my face, apparently it's a bad chemical for long term use.

See you.

Aweee, thanks sharon. That's very sweet. I just get tired of being "the black girl" in the bunch. I hang out with people of all races, but my main friends are white and asian. And next to them I feel really dark, and I hate being known as the black girl, you know. Im not even full black, Im mixed, but none of that matters.
I like who I am, I just hate not being seen for who I am, because people can't look past color. And Im really not that dark =(

Hiya

Hey, on that very website (the melederm website) there is a product for dark circles. People say that they don't like it because it burns... but it says on the website that it WILL and is SUPPOSED to burn, because its got xynthol, or some kind of ynthol (cooling, minty like sunstance/plant/herb).
After a few times, the burning sensation should subside, and it should be nothing but great results from there.
I believe that if you have the money, and the patience to change something about yourself that will give you either confidence, or the happiness you need to get on with life then I don't see a problem with "trying" a product. The worst that can happen is you don't like it, or it doesn't work. But there's a 50 50 chance in everything. And I think that 50 percent chance that it will work is all you need to go on with trying something. Its better than not trying anything, and being miserable. Because if you don't try anything you'll have a 100 percent chance that you won't get fixed, and you won't be happy.
Not ever happens for us when were just sitting around, unless were born into wealth and happiness (according to television) like Paris Hilton, and children of wealthy/famous/rich people. And even then you have to work just a little to show that your worth something.
There's a saying that good things come to those who wait. But I think that good things come to those who put themselves out there, and don't give up. The whole waiting thing is just a part of that. Because you have to do something to get something... and then you have to wait and see if your efforts will give you the results you wanted.

Hi Everyone

I for one can recommend Melederm because I have been using it for about 6 weeks now and people are starting to say that my skin looks better and healthier. I know that it has lightened slightly because I don't need much foundation any more. I'm loving the results so far and yesterday I ordered my second jar (a larger one)... I don't really care if I don't lighten any more, this stuff is fab. I feel I look much younger. This stuff takes its time to get working but the slower you obtain the results the more permanent they will be. I might cut down how much I use from now on.. I might just apply it at night.
Anyway good luck to everyone else and I'll keep you updated.;)

Hi littlegenie,
You say that melederm has not lightened your skin so why are you ordering more, I mean what was your original purpose. You say its made your skin better how, can you elaborate, because I've been using it and have not found major benefits than other ordinary face creams.

The only benefit I am seeing is that I have had a very minor skin lightning.

Hi anousa82

If you read my post carefully you will see that I mentioned that it had lightened my skin slightly and that it was also looking healthier, my skin also looks more uniform in colour. I have taken into consideration the fact that I have not been using this product for very long yet and the results so far are satisfactory.
I have already mentioned in earlier posts that I don't intend on lightening my skin dramatically.. I only wish to have a brighter.. more uniform complexion. This product is working well so far which is why I have purchased another jar.

I'm sorry that you did not get any results from using melederm but everyone's skin is different and reacts in different ways. I have read several other posts on this forum from people claiming success with melederm. ;)

If you are trying to lighten skin colour dramatically I wouldn't recommend melederm because it works very slowly and may not be effective on very dark skin tones. I don't feel it is strong enough to lighten dark skin quickly. I used it because I don't favour using HQ on my face and I didn't want to lighten dramatically.

Hi littlegenie,

Even though I'm asian I'm very fair I'm not using melederm to lighten my whole face I don't want to lighten my face its already very fair, my problem and the reason I bought melederm was to use on my chin it is darker than the rest of my face its not that dark but its noticeable, I have only been using melederm for only 10 days and the small jar I bought is still all there since I have only been using it on a small area.

I have seen results its only very very slight change but I think by the end of or even half the jar I will start to notice better results.

The thing is I use sunblock and my skin is greasy the whole day I hate it, is it the sunblock or melederm, even if it is not the melederm I still have to use sunblock because of it.

Can I ask what type of sunblock are you using?

Thankx

the thing is i use sunblock and my skin is greasy the whole day i hate it, is it the sunblock or melederm, even if it is not the melederm i still have to use sunblock because of it.

can i ask what type of sunblock are you using?

thankx

Hi anousa82

I think you need to use the cream for at least 6 weeks to see any significant results. If you are only using it on your chin then the jar will last you quite a long time.
The greasyness you mention is a result of the sunblock you are using as I do not experience any at all... I am not using any particular sunblock, my olay moisturiser contains an SPF 15 so I just use that. I apply the Melederm cream at night and the olay cream during the day now... although I was applying both creams during the day (melederm first then olay) until recently. I'v stopped applying the melederm during the day simply because I want to make the jar last longer. :)

Hey Everyone!

I'm new here and have been reading about Melederm with interest.

I am brown skinned as well and would like to use it to lighten some dark patches that I have on my neck. I visited a cosmetic clinic recently and they suggested using a product called Cosmelan. Has anyone here used this before? Apparently it is one of a few products that have worked with darker skin tones. It is quite pricey, but if it works then I don't mind. I'm not sure Melederm will do the job for me.

I used melederm for a few dark spots on my face and it helped a lot.

I have heard of Cosmelan but I think its for people with extreme skin pigment problems. If you need something really strong, Cosmelan might be good for you.

Thanks NikkiS:)

I think I do need something stronger as I'm not just looking to lighten a few shades. I tried a prescription of 5 % HQ in the past which didn't really help, so I guess this Cosmelan is my only other choice.

Would melederm get rid of or lighten freckles?

No cream will get rid of freckles. Trust me. Maybe try 4% hydroquinone to lighten them up a little bit. But they will always be there.

The only reason why I am looking for a cream to lighten freckles is because I was told I can't have laser treatment to remove freckles. I have lightly tanned skin, and so laser treatment would result in white freckles on my nose.

Any other ingredients I should be looking out for other than hydroquinone? Its banned in the UK.

I am having good results so far. I am using it on my bottox and some age spots on the face and it looks to be lightening a little more each week.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted for a long time, I have been busy catching up on my studies but I just thought I would update you on my progress with melederm.
I can safely say that this cream has lightened my skin by one shade over 2 months of use so its quite slow, but I'm not complaining as I like the results.
People comment on me looking healthier but I know its because my skin is less patchy now, and more hydrated. I have nearly finished my second jar now as I only apply it at night. I will certainly be ordering more very soon.
Let me know how you all are getting along with your skin lightening.:)

Hi to all,
I was a melasma sufferer and I am now a cosmelan user. When I decided to do something about my melasma I did a search on the melasma and treatments available and started putting aside all the treatments that:
* Are too soft and don't show evident results in a short period of time: I don't want to spend money on something that doesn't make really visible results. Most cheap over the counter products ligthen a bit, but not enough for who has melasma, just for those that want to even their tone, but don't really have defined spots.
* Are too harsh: At the same that I want an effective treatment I don't want it to be too harsh. If you stress your skin while treating melasma, you will have excatly the opposite effect. The derm layer of your skin will split from the epiderm layer. The hyperpigmentated cells will drop to the inner layer and your melasma turns into dermal. This form is much, much harder to treat, takes longer an usually doesn't disappear completely. In this I include TCA peels, green apple peel, glycolic peel and many others names. They make your skin renew, because they literally burn your skin.
* Have side effects: Toxic products that are very effective with melasma but have large amounts of toxic ingredients that enters your body through your skin and have side effects on your organs. For example, like Jiaoli that has mercury is not good for me.
* Have rebound effects: Treatments that are effective while you are using the product, but when you stop and without being any reason at all for new brown spots to be created and melasma comes back, sometimes even darker, these ones are not for me either.
* Are photosensitizing: One of the side effects is increases your skin sensitivity. Even after treatment stops, the smallest amount of sunlight (and light from some lamps) are enough to create brown spots.

After putting aside some treatments, the Mesoestetic Cosmelan Pack treatment seemed to be the best choice of all. It is effective, works on any fitzpatrick skin type (because it lightens your skins up to what tone your skin is genetically determined, not more), can be done any time of year, can go to the beach, can wear make up. The only no was the price. A bit expensive. Doctors charge from $700 to $1500. Until something better comes along, this my my product election.
Take care.
Christina.

For skin lightening

1. make a paste of pinch of turmeric and a tablespoon of milk powder in two tablespoons of honey and the juice of half lemon.Apply it on your face and leave it till it dries and then wash your face, your skin will feel smoother and brighter.

2.mix equal equantities of lemonjuice and honey, apply it on your face.Do this daily, this will
Produce good results after 4weeks of continued use.

3.apply cucumber juice to your face, leave it on overnight and wash off.Leave the skin on when making cucumber juice,it will lighten your face.

4.use fullersearth once a week to lighten your skin.

I am a 45 yr old Chinese woman with pale skin and lots of freckles, and also in the last 3 to 4 yrs, have age spots appearing on my arms and elbows. I don't know if this is a case of melasma but I want to just lighten my freckles and age spots but not the skin generally as I am already quite pale. I have contacted Civant and they said that Meladerm is right for my purpose.

I have now used Meladerm for 2 weeks and have followed the instructions religiously. The cream is white, smells nice, smooth when you first apply but gradually becomes a bit sticky as it dries on the skin. It is also probably too rich on my skin and caused some breakout which is unusual for me, but it is only minor so I am not too bothered about it. However, I must say that so far I cannot detect any change at all to my face although I will continue to finish the bottle. If I notice some improvement I will continue to use it for 3 months and will report again here.

I have now used Meladerm for 8 weeks. Unfortunately I have not detected any improvement in my freckles/dark spots or in my skin tone :( I hope other people have more luck than I have with this product. I will not buy another bottle when the current one finishes. The only thing I will say is that a bottle seems to last quite long. I use it twice a day on my face and I think there is enough to last another 2 weeks at least.

Hey meena, I want to know something from you about civant. I am suffering of hyperpigmentation. I did lots of cure but didn't get satisfactory result. When I surf on internet about civant & it's product of pigmentation. My question is it good prodcut or beneficial to my skin?

Check out this board a lot of members using this product: brighterskin : Brighterskin Group (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/brighterskin/)

I've tried meladerm for my dark circles... and I have a dark brown skin tone... and it I tried it for two months with little to no success...
It depends on your skin type and your natural pigmentation..
I think if you had a bad tan and your trying to get rid of it this may work...
But for my dark circles... it as a waste

Hi guys. I wanted to share my story with Meladerm. I ordered from the UK website in December of 2007 and it was delivered to me in just a few days. I have been suffering from dark spots on my face and back from old pimples. Since I bought the small bottle, I did not want to use it just yet on my back. I wanted to see if it would work first otherwise I could return it. I began using it on my face only and in the last month I am seeing a positive effect. The spots are fading and it is also helping my skin stay soft and smooth. Really I think this cream is very good and I want to start using it on my back also. The small bottle has lasted me more than a month and I think there is still little less than half left. Does anyone know if there are any bigger sizes available? I saw they have a 3.5 ounces but that will not be enough for me. I am not living in the USA, so I'm just wondering if there are any places that sell large bottles for a discount. Thank you! :) :)

Please keep us updated on your progress, I will hopefully order some soon myself for hyperpigmentation problems. Up until I was 9 years old I was a very fair kid and as I grew older I became darker. I'm 27 now and hope this cream can give me my original fair skin tone back. I'm an asian guy from the uk.

Hi Guys,

I'v just registered with this forum and i just want to know if anyone has used Melederm and got results from it as i have just purchased my first jar and i dont want to get my hopes up only to be dissappointed. I've done a bit of research on the product and found some promising reviews, has anyone here used it yet?
I used meladerm and it didn't work at all... it darkened my skin instead so I wrote to the people who sell it and they said that it happens sometimes, so for me it was a total waste of money!.

Meladerm is good for acne scars, but the only problem is that when you first start using meladerm it causes pimples(atleast for me it did). I used meladerm for 2 months and my acne marks reduced by 80%.

Girl you are sooo perfect! Your color is perfect, I say be happy w/ your gorgeous color! You don't need to be lighter, you are perfect perfect perfect!!

Thank you Hindude,
you always seem to have the right thing to say. I just dont know how YOU have the time, patience, and money to put into all of these different products. Like... isnt it harmful to use all of these things?
I honestly just want to get 2-3 shades lighter...I will show pictures of my actual skin color, and the color I want to achieve.
This is my actual color (well I tend to look darker on camera to, so... kind of look at me as being a little lighter in the dark pic: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c330/cupcake2114/DSCN0655originalbobnea.jpg
and this is an altered pic of the color I want to achieve:
http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c330/cupcake2114/bobnea.jpg

You dont by any chance work for melederm do you??
Do you have any before and after pictures? You said melederm turned your skin 2-3 shades whiter... so. Im assuming you would have taken pics.
How long did it take for you to achieve your desired look?
And... do you have to continuously use melerderm to maintain your results??
