I am in the process of changing over to a Programmable Thermostat and wanted to have some guidance on the wiring on the new thermostat.

Old themostat:
White-Rogers Heat Pump Thermostat 2H/1C, Type 1F59-11

Current wiring at this thermostat:


Horizontal wires:
W- white wire
R- red wire
L- no wire
C- blue wire

Veritcal wires:
G- green wire
O- orange wire
Y- yellow wire
B- no wire
New themostat:
Honeywell TH8320U1008

Wiring available on the new thermostat (has two vertical areas)

Any help on how to connect the existing wiring to the new thermostat will be greatly appeciated.

First of all have a seat and read the install part of your manual 2X so you understand it. It makes no difference weather the thermostat terminals are up or down side to side you are working with colors of wires and the corrosponding letters from where they are on the original thermostat to where they go on the new thermostat.

Your wiring is very strait forward and READ the NOTES on page 5. It covers what to do with the O/B situation and that is in the progaming section of the thermostat.

Y for example goes to Y

Many of the terminals you will not be using on the new thermostat like S1 and S2 since you probably do nott have the optional outdoor theromostat. All the info for your thermostat is in the book you have OR the link below.

If you fail to be able to get your thermostat to work you might consider calling for ON SITE help from a professional HVAC company in your area.

Before removing any old wires off the original thermostat make sure you mark them as to where they came from or you could be in more trouble.
