When I try to move my lawn tractor the wheels lock up and it won't move. I jacked up the rear wheels and they will spin freely. When I put it on the floor and try to push it it won't move. I put the latch in the free wheel position, but still won't move. The tractor is 5 years old and has a 16.5 hp Honda engine. Is it possible the brake is locked? What should I look for?

Hi,
Well, it is hard to say. You say that the wheels spin freely off the ground; they should but in opposite direction, the action of the differential. You say that you have it in the free wheel position, hydrostatic? Sounds like that is not working, track linkageto the dump valve to make sure it is depressed, etc. Best way would be to jack it up, make sure valve is engaged and try to spin one wheel whileholding the other. I all are working, then you should faintly hear/feel the other pieces of the transmission move and only one tire will move. The brake should be inboard of the right rear tire/wheel if it is the culprit.
Peace,
