Who checked the boiler? Did you do it yourself or was it done by your local HVAC company?

No a company came in on Friday to do it via the letting agent then after they came the boiler has since packed up I had an emergancy plumber out yesterday and there is also a problem with the boiler its self as well as heating not working properly as in the boiler does not fire up when pilot light is on so need some parts on boiler need replacing but that is all they are going to do I explained the problem with the radiators and he informed me it was probebly sludge in there letting agent is funny to so I don't think they will pay to have the problem fixed and I can't affored to pay for it myself so is there a way to clear this with out making it worse house is like a walk in fridge at the moment it is not even 10 degrees in here

I do not recommend you do anything to that boiler yourself. Boilers can be very complicated abd difficult to work on. I understand the no money situation but your and the familys safety is more important. If you are renting like I think you are call the agent. It is there responsibility.

Yeah I know that but I am at the moment 1 month in arrears with them it took them 7 hours to get a plumer round yesterday I haved to children and I am currently pregnant heavely pregnant also the plumber is supposed to be coming back today to do the boiler but not rads I would not touch the boiler myself also on the back of the boiler cover is all blackened does this indicate it has been leaking fumes ? The spy glass was also missing or had fallen out I guess this means yes it would have been leaking harmfull fumes am I correct ? i.e. carbon monoxide

I am sorry but the questions you ask are almost impossible to answer here. The only way to tell is you have carbon monoxide problems is to test the unit and the home.

I can say the blackened area on the cover does not sound good but from here I cannot tell if it is a problem or not.
