Hi.

My landlord just put in a new furnace because when ever I turned my heat on it would never turn on and we would hear banging and buzzing all day and night.

Now since he put a new furnace in there is no more noise. But now I think I have another problem.

When I turn my heat up to say 70 or 75 it will shut off at 68 or 73 and then every 2 minutes the heat will come back on and then shut off. Turn on and shut off all day.

Is that normal?

Also when the heat is coming out it does not feel so warm. It feels cool and it does not seem to heat the apartment up very good.

I messed with the anticipator a couple months ago because I thought that was the problem before I told my landlord about the noise. Right now I have it on .4 and I am using natural gas. It is an old murcury thermostat

Could be that the tstat is out of calibration, problem is ,you can`t do much about it,except replace it,, you need to call back in the landlord,to take care of the prob. If a contracter did the work, they should take care of whatever problem you are having. Unless you have the right testing equipment you shouldn`t be messing with the anticipator, this could be causing the short cycling

Your tstat may be bypass by another tstat. (tstat problem)
If this is a steam system the your pressure control needs adjustment
(on and off problem)
