I have a fridgidaire oven model fefl89ccb with both oven elements not working. Top burners are fine as with all other controls. Also what should be the resistance in the elements and temp probe if these are the culprits?

Poppyx6 - Your troubles could be one of 3 things:: #1- Defective oven heating elements>:: #2 Defective themostat.;; #3 -
A defective selector switch -
To test the units - #2 - take a VOLT OHM METER and set to RX1 , NOTE - #1- Turn OFF the POWER AT THE BREAKER OR PULL THE POWER CORD TO THE RANGE :::: Ok now remove the 2 screws in the oven that hold the elements in place . Pull the element stright forward enough to remove the wires hooked to the end of element . Turn meter on set to rx1 and put a meter prob on each one of the ends of the element , :: IF They METER READING IS 15 to 30 OHMS <The element is good if reading is high then replace it ,or boyh if bad :: Now to test the thermostat - Up behind the control panel , Disconnect one of the leads comeing to it from the element and then put a prob on eace of the terminals and if the reading is ( ZERO ) then the thermostat is good if high then it is bad and needs replaced , To check the selector REmove one wire and test it with the selector in heat and in the broil seting . IF it reads high it is defective - replace ::: Good luck and STAY SAFE <REMEMBER THAT 220 volts IS NOT FORGIVEING > GOD BLESS :: FG.B.E.
