Hi I have started having aproblem about 6 years ago I woke 1 night choking and finding it hard to breath.now it happens all difrent times specicerly after drinking or swolowing ichoke and find it hard to take a breth or breath out it last about 30 seconds but takes a few minets to get back to normal .hope you can help as its verey wurrying

Coughing? Take some chocolate. An ingredient found in chocolate may be a more effective remedy than current medicines for persistent coughs.

It might be worth getting your thyroid checked.

I think you may have sleep apnea. Alcohol relaxes the muscles in your throat and makes you more prone to it. Apnea causes high blood pressure and deprives your brain of essential oxygen. It also leads to sleep loss and tiredness during the day. If you have gained weight in the last few years, that would make apnea worse.

I could be wrong, or course. I'm not a doctor and I'm just reading a few lines.

Either way, go to a doctor right away. Any difficulty breathing is a serious symptom and should be evaluated.
