I had two jobs in the past where I was outside in the sun for 8 hours a day for about 3 to 5 months. That was over 10 years ago. I tanned a lot while out in the sun, but the tan never faded.

About 2 years ago I went to the doctor and was prescribed hq. I used three tubes of that stuff but did not see any results. I tried using Meladerm for the past 4 months along with the neutrogena sunblock (SPF 85) but did not get any results.

I have included a pic for you to see what I am dealing with. I just want my skin to fade back to where it was. My face and forearms are the color of my neck in the picture. The rest of my body is the color of my chest/shoulder in the pic. As you can see, that is a big difference.

I read in a post that punkchick is an expert in the subject. Do you have any suggestions for me punk chick?

Hey Cherry_09, I am in Chennai right now and was wondering what you can suggest anything for me that I can get while in India?

Kumar

It will take a while for the tan to fade.

In the mean time, use a cream/lotion that contains proven lightening agents such as Arbutin. In india you can purchase shiseido (I can't think of any other products widely available in India) which contains Arbutin. Apply this day and night.
Exfoliate your skin at least once a week.
And also use a sunblock everyday before you go out to protect the skin from further darkening.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Thanks for the response PuckChic. Where can you buy that stuff? A medical shop or do I need to go to a mall like Spencer Plaza and look for cosmetics?

I'm guessing you would need to go to the mall to find the products as they are quite expensive. :s
