Has anyone ever refurbished a stainless steel sink. I have a customer whose stainless steel sink is badly marred and very dull looking. She says that she has used what the manufacturer suggested to clean it with, but it still looks bad. Looking for suggestions.

Have they tried lemon oil?

It might be a short term fix,but it does look good when covered with it.

Thanks for suggestions. Believe it or not it looks like "Barkeepers Freind" may hold the answer. I think you can do about anything with Barkeepers friend and white vinagar. Haven't tried brushing my teeth with it yet.

I accidentally got some acidic drain cleaner on an SS sink and used 600 grid paper and WD40 to polish it up.

Permatex makes a plastic headlamp polishing kit that has high grit paper in it.

You can also get 1000 to 2000 grit paper at a local woodworker's supply place.

My company installed Stainless Steel Sinks in all our new construction. If I got a complaint that one of our "Stainless" sinks was stained I took it out with "Cameo Aluminum and Stainless Steel Cleaner manufactured by Purex. This always worked for me. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer, Tom
