I have a gas furnace that is not working properly. Actually, I don't know what the problem is. The heat was working perfectly in the basement and main levels of the house. The upstairs bedrooms were cold. So I was given a tool and was told that I needed to bleed the radiators upstairs, which I did. The problem is, since I did that, none of the radiators work anywhere in the house! My kids and I are freezing. Especially at night when the temperature drops even more. What did I do wrong? Now I am told to turn the knobs at the base of the radiators to turn the heat or steam on. I am confused, I didn't have to do that before to get heat on the main level. Why now? Someone please help, before we turn into popsicles! Thank you for any info provided.

One minute you say you have a gas furnace and the next you say you had to bleed the radiators upstairs. This does not match.

Do you have a furnace ?

OR Do you have a boiler/hot water system?

There is a big difference and we cannot help you unless we know the correct type of system you have.

The GE number you posted is not a Model number listed.

Please post the brand and Exact model number of your heating unit. Model number will be on the unit ID label with other info. All units by law have to have this tag.
