Can anyone help me to find a new gas valve ? I have an old coal oil furnace that was converted to natural gas at least twenty years ago. It is a sears and roebuck furnace. The existing valve is about four inches square and is marked as follows: model vs 620 A1013 regulateor v5306 operator vs 824. It will not open to allow gas in-flow and I need a new one. If the model numbers and specs on the furnace will help in the search for a valve that will do the neessary job here they are: 15 amp 140000 BTU 1 gal per hour ul listed R-560661. I have two more numbers 741120 and 602601 . I believe they are the serial amd model numbers, respectively,. it could be vice versa.

If I were to walk in an see your furnace, I would most likely say, TIME TO UPDATE. However, if you can find universal replacement gas valve, and you are sure that the valve is the problem, you may have a chance. On a unit that has been converted such as yours, I would seriously look into upgrading to a higher efficeincy (not to mention warrantied) furnace. You would not have to worry about finding parts for a new furnace. Outdated furnaces usually have outdated parts. Therefore you are looking for universal parts. I normally recommend using factory replacement parts, (which in your case is impossible). With a new furnace, you will be able to find parts for the next 20 to 30 years, if not longer.

Based upon the number it sounds like a honeywell.
