Hi all,

First time contributor though previous user of this site for help and advice.

I am working on putting together a series of documents, each of which will feature the same map on the front cover but with different sections highlighted.

The map is of a road network and I would like to highlight different roads for the various front covers.

Clearly, the roads are already marked on the map - however, is it possible to highlight parts of an existing image in Adobe Illustrator CS2?

I have experimented with the pencil tool but this has not produced particular satisfactory results,

Hope this makes sense and any help or advice would be very gratefully recovered,

Thanks,

Neil

Use the pen tool to trace the road (make sure you are clicking in the center of the road).
When you are finished, change the thickness (stroke) of the line using the Stroke pallet.
Then you can change the color of the line using the Color pallet.
Finally, change the Opacity of the line using the Transparency pallet - this will allow you to see through your line.
