Hello,

My problem is this; When I turn the toilet water supply valve I don't hear any water flow sound anymore, so the only way we can flush the toilet is to fill up a bucket with water and pour it down. Before we had the same problem but what we would have to do is turn on the faucet to the tub shower and then the toilet would fill up. It comes and goes. Now it is doing the same thing. The water supply valve is new and so is the toilet parts also. The water supply pipe is comes through the floor to the toilet. Could there be a problem with the valve or the piping itself?

Thank you,

Hey Pat,

Is the angle stop a compression stop, a threaded stop or a soldered stop?
You're going to have to track this down the hard way.
Remove the chrome tube that runs to the tank, hold a pan under the stoip and turn it on for a second. If you have pressure then the problem's in the ballcock.
If no water comes out of the angle stop then shut the water off to the house and remove the angle stop. Now, while you're holding a pan to catch any water have someone turn the house back on for a second. If you have pressure then replace the angle stop. If no pressure from the open line then the problem's back on down the line and you'll need a plumber.
Let me know how you make out. Regards, Tom
