I was getting about 35-37 a couple months ago, but then my car stopped working. I replaced the entire distributer, plugs, wires, fuel filter, fuel injectors, and PGM- FI Main relay.

My car works now! Yay. (it still has a little trouble turning over, but it always does)

Anyway, I am getting really bad gas mileage now. 20city and 27hwy.

Help?

. Use 5W-30 full-synthetic engine oil.
. Change air filter.
. Clean throttle body and upper/lower ports.
. Clean Idle Air Control Valve and lines.
. Check idle rpm.
. Check timing with a timing light--this may be a huge part of your problem, since you replaced the distributor.
. Check/replace oxygen sensor. A bad oxygen sensor can radically affect gas mileage, since it controls fuel injector duration.
. Check for dragging brakes.
. Use full-synthetic transmission fluid.
. Ensure you used the same NGK spark plugs that came with your car.
. Check tire pressure.
