Hello, my Grandfather owns a pocket watch, very much like the one on this site:

Lot 318: A Guinness Time pocket watch, the dial depicting a - Featured on Artfact.com (http://www.artfact.com/auction-lot/a-guinness-time-pocket-watch,-the-dial-depicting-1-c-7553tu9tj7)

It has the words 'Guinness Time' on it, and a toucan that nods every half-second. It still works, and in perfect (ish) condition, even if the clock-face is a little grubby (but not as discoloured as the one in the picture). It's evidently pretty old, so I'm thinking it may be worth something...

Approx. what year was it made, and what's it worth?

(Would check from the site I just provided, but, lol, I'm not paying to see how much it's worth! ) ;)

Cheers!

Hi, InvaderJem!

In order to make it easier for anyone who comes along who might be able to help here, I've enlarged the image that you had attached and posted it directly on this thread. I'll see what I can find out about your grandfather's pocket watch.

Thanks!

Hi InvaderJam,
Funny enough, I have a picture of this pocket watch blown up on a poster and framed in my bedroom.
I wanted to see about getting one myself, so I googled it and found your post.

On the poster it says this:
"A RARE GUINNESS POCKET WATCH, PRODUCED BY INGERSOLL LTD, 1959."

Another site said it was worth $335-$503.

Cheers!

I agree with the above but it will be worth as much as someone is willing to pay. My 2nd cousin worked for guinness and evertyime my mom went to Ireland she came back will all sorts of what I now know to be advertising items ( I have mini bottles, a brush, the same watch and some plates). My watch still works and I am keeping it for now. I have a china (white/blue) plate with an asian sceen. There is a man running across a bridge being chased by a samauri type guy with a huge sword in the air and the bubble over his head says "my goddness my guinness!". I also have a double deck of playing cards. Anyone know about these items?
