Ive been renting from this so called land lord for about 8months--the time that I moved in my apartment-the s upstairs have been jumping and making unbearable noise--ive have reported them to my slumlord on numerous occasions as well as the police department-finally I was told I could file a complaint on them and which I did--well this made the slumlord upset-and me and him had words about the situation--i don't know why he is protecting these people-but he had the nerve to tell me that I can't have any company over and told my friend that if he saw him over my place-he would call the police and file a trespassing charge against him--I told my friend as long as you isn't destroying his property or committing any crime you can come over anytime you wanted? What legal options do I have that I can take against this slumlord?

Keep filing complaints and making police reports. You need to have a paper trail in case the landlord decides to do a "retalitory" eviction.

Usually your lease will state how long a guest can stay before he/she become a tenant. My leases state that it's 14 days in a calendar year. So NO, you can not have a guest stay for an unlimited time unless it is outlined within your lease or state laws.
