I have a 97 cavalier 2.2l that died the other day. It has a timing chain not a belt. I have compression of 120psi in each cylinder. I now have fuel to each cylinder. Problem started by dying going down the road a 55mph. My son had it towed home and the tow truck driver checked for spark using a screw driver. I found the initial car dying was due to no fuel at the fuel rail. I had a bad injector, filter, and regulator. I have not been able to get the car started. I have fuel, I have spark( checked again with the correct tester}
I have compression. My timing seems to be not advaning enough to start the car. Fires on the down stroke. I am going to buy a ignition control module today, could this be it? Or do I need to look at something else?
