Hello guys!
I've looked all over the net but could not find an answer to my following question.

I recently moved in to a condo, which had an old Honeywell thermostat installed. I took it off, there were no markings on the back of the unit, but all six wires coming from the wall were connected to the unit. The colors of the wires are the following:

BLUE, YELLOW, RED, ORANGE, BLACK, BROWN

I've went through many different forums and manuals, but everywhere it says I should have WHITE and GREEN wires coming out from the wall. I do not have those.

My fan coil unit is made by Climetec (Canadian manufacturer), here is the link: Climanetics Inc. | (http://www.climanetics.ca/climetec.htm)

I connected my new Ritetemp thermostat in the following way, but the fan does not stop, unless you shut the unit down, while the unit is fully programmable:

RED - to RH terminal of the new thermostat (jumpered to RC)
BLACK - to B terminal
YELLOW - to Y terminal
ORANGE - to W terminal

I know that the BLUE wire from the wall is 24AC for the unit, but I can leave it out, because the unit operates on batteries, which is fine by me. I am also positive that RED wire is connected correctly, otherwise I would have no heat, which I do.

Please advice about the rest of the wires if you can, it would be greatly appreciated! Im just tired of switching the thermostat to ON and OFF, when I know that it is fully programmable :)

Help could be on the way if we had enough information,, I see no posting as to the type of heating system you have,, is it gas? Electric/ do you have a heatpump? The model number is very important not just from the tstat but also from the furnace itself

I for one can`t understand why you have replaced a good honeywell with a Ritetemp

Bump for ideas. If I had more information, I would've written it down in the first post.

Look at the terminal board on the furnace where the stat wires terminate. Those terminals should be labeled. Those connections should be the same on your stat. Now if you have heat pump/electric heat then you're getting into a totally different type of system. If we knew more we might have a more absolute answer. Your furnace will have a name plate on it listing the make, model# and serial#.

You have a Fan Coil system and it requires a Fan Coil stat.
Typical things required are: +24, Gnd, Hi, Med, Lo, Changeover sensor, changeover valve

You do need to determine if you have a 2 pipe or 4 pipe system.

After doing an exhausting amount of work, most FAN coil stats are not programmable. Some have the fan run all the time. The FAN coil stats are really designed for the hospitality industry where it's hotel room oriented. Occupancy sensors, door open sensors, key swipe sensors etc.

The thermostat seems like a good choice.

Your going to have to identify the wires by going back to the fan coil. The residential color cods will not apply. You may have G1, G2, G3, C, R and a couple other designations.
