My floor drain in my basement is backing up into my basement. I can not run water in my kitchen sink or my washer. I snaked the floor drain. Put abut 20 feet of the snake into the floor drain. Then I turned on the kitchen sink and every thing was fine. It drain without coming back up into my basement. But when I put in a load of laundry it came right back up. After the water stopped draining out of the washer the water on the floor did drain down the floor drain. So I snaked the drain pipe from the washer and got black stuff out. Turned on the washer and got black water coming out of my floor drain. Any ideas short of calling a plumer out which I can't afford would be helpful. Please please please thank ronda

Hi Ronda, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Are you on city sewer or a septic system? You're doing the right thing. You just aren't doing enough of it. You haven't put out enough snake. Rent a sewer machine,(see image) and locate the house clean out. This will be found close to the house where the line runs to the street,( or septic tank). Put out enough to get out to the street( or septic tank). That should get your clog, If it doesn't get back to me at once while you still have the machine. Good luck, Tom
