I have a 7 year old Shih Tzu who was completely house-trained. We have recently moved and are staying with both my husband's family and my family until we can get a place of our own. So far, we have been in this situation for about a month and a half. Our dog is pooping 6 - 8 times every day and I know that this isn't normal for her. She actually started this just prior to our moving. Her poops are normal, just way too many. She eats a good quality dog food from the pet store and not too much. She also eats a lot of vegetables, etc. (carrots, peppers, cucumbers, bananas) as treats which our former vet told me that she could have. Her eyes, skin, and hair seem to be normal and she has a lot of energy. I have checked her poop for worms and have never seen anything. She seems to be fine in all respects except for the excessive pooping. What could be wrong and should I be concerned?

A lot of times excessive pooping is a result of stress. It sounds like the constant moving might have something to do with it.
There is a dog food made by Eukanuba called "Low residue formula" which makes them poop less.
You might check into that.

Do you need to start your own thread? This doesn't quite seem related to the OP. and are you a breeder? What are you doing with a 6 week old puppy?

Usually when there is an increase in the amount of pooping, it means there is a decrease in the amount of nutrients being absorbed by your dog and the diet you are giving him.
What is his normal diet? Have you changed it at all? If you've changed his food, I would go back to what you were using prior. I agree with the above posting, and that you should try something like the Eukanuba, or Science Diet. Whatever works best for him, don't vary his diet from that, unless another problem should arise.

I agree with ZoeMarie. You need to start your own thread. I realise you are new to this site, but you need to take the time and get to know how the site works. Go to the top of this page, click on where it says "Dogs", and then click on "Ask Question". I am also curious to know why you have a 6 week old puppy.
