Whilst fixing my White Knight CL 412 FRV Tumble Dryer, 2 wires became dislodged off the heating element and I have no idea which terminals they connect to! The wires are the solid black and red ones coming from the front of the machine (from the heating switch).
Does anyone have a diagram or, better still, a photo of the wiring to the element?
Many thanks
David

Hi david,

I did some research on your problem and I found one item in the net that says the same thing as yours and here it is;

"The live feed comes back from the front panel selector through the dark brown cable with the white bands on it, goes down one grey wire to the thermostat embedded in the back panel, comes back up on the other grey cable to power the first heater element, where the red wire is also connected to supply a live feed to the selector switch of the high temp setting, which returns on the black wire to supply the second heating element - and the other end of both elements then go down the blue wire to the trip/reset switch [red button on back panel] and then exit through the neutral mains wire."

Analyzing what the repair guy has stated, it means you have a dual heat dryer. The gray cable goes to the low heat ( first heating element). The red wire is connected here also to connect power to the second heating element via the high temp setting which becomes the black wire to go to the second terminal of the heating element.

If you can check the resistance of the heating elements with respect to their common point which is the blue wire. Find out if there is a difference in resistance.

If there is a difference, the black goes to the low resistance and the red goes to the high resistance together with the gray. If the gray wire is still in the heating element, then insert the red wire where the gray wire is.

If there is no difference, either way you can put the red and the black wires. It does not matter.
