We got a rescue pup(4months old), 3 weeks ago. She came to us with kennel cough, which we treated well with our vet. For the last 2/3 days, she has been pooping and occasionally wetting in the hallway, being clean up until then. She goes out for walks during the day, and has access to the g arden as and when she wants it. She gets fed mornig and evening. Has anyone got any ideas as to why now and not from the start she's begun doing this, and what's the best way to stop her doing it. Is there anything you can b uy to maybe spray aroung that would put her off doing it indoors?

Hi, devonshirelass!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this topic area so that it would get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

It can be a little confusing when first learning how to use this site! Your question will get noticed much more in this topic area.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

Thanks!

Well, the first thing to remember is that there *will* be accidents with a puppy this young. It is totally normal.

That said, just make sure you're keeping her on a good schedule, praise her (a lot - even with treats) every time she goes in the right place, and make absolutely sure to clean all accidents with a special cleanser designed to remove urine smells (like nature's miracle). Also, make sure your cleaning agents don't contain ammonia; they smell like pee to dogs, which encourages them to pee in the wrong places.
