Wouldn't you know it, I just bought an ECHO PB-251 hand held leaf blower and ran it for an HOUR on straight gas. I thought the can had mixed fuel in it but forgot I used it last to kill some yellow jackets over the summer. I thought it was running a little rough. I used a full tank of gas and then refilled for another run only to have it stall out about half way through. It clanked a little as it stalled. I let it rest a while only to realize what I had done. It's not locked up and seems to have resistance so I think there is still compression. Do I have any shot at getting this to start again? I still can't believe it ran for a whole hour. It was right out of the box. Any advice?

The reed valves get messed up when there is a lack of lubercation. Seizing is more likely when it overheats. Lack of oil contributes to both but the reeds will take the biggest hit.

Advice: 20/20 hindsight - Buy a Stihl

Advice#2: Not likely warranty covered. Echo has nice service manuals. You'll learn quick.

Drain the straight gas, add proper mix to tank and prime, you have nothing to loose. Start it up. KISS is right about the quality but for the price you paid for the ECHo you can buy another and still be just hitting Stihls price. Stihl is a really great machine but at a price, unless you are a heavy user or a pro many homeowners can get by with a Weedeater or Echo.

The price difference isn't that bad.
