How do you install shims to get the correct back lash on a Chevy Dana 60 front axle. I am changing gears and carrier going from 4.11s to 4.88s. Can this be done without special tools?

Special tools? Oh, yeah! You will need plenty of them. And you'll probably only use them once. You'll need a dial indicator and torque wrenches, etc, to make sure it all comes out right.
