Why do you believe in ghosts, spirits, shadow people, and/or orbs, etc.

What made you start believing in the paranormal?

Because its fun to believe in some things that you can't explain :)

At first I didn't believe in ghosts or spirits. My boyfriend and his mom would tell me that they could talk to spirits, and to be honest I thought they were kind of weird, until he started telling me things about my aunt who passed away, things he would never have known about her. He would also predict things and tell me what I was wearing without seeing me, so after I experienced this I started to believe.

Can you believe in something that you can't prove, see or explain? There are so many people out there that will disprove and others like me who have "faith" that have had things happen to them that can not be explained... it's not one or two things; its my whole life. Ones spirituality is their core connection with the themselves and Divine life force in this world... I don't care if its Occult, Catholic, Christian, Buddhist... etc. Everyone needs something to believe in especially when it comes to after-life... call it coping with loss... coping with the fact we all die-fear of death... survival or living life to its fullest extent. What gives you energy? What gives you hope for tomorrow? What can we each do to contribute to the world dilemmas? We pray for a better and brighter future. As it goes for the unseen or unknown - once you have been enlightened then you have your answers. Not everyone feels the same way. I have touched a broad amount of subjects with the unnatural and truly do believe that we are just in one physical plan but there are many dimensions... look at our universe and how little we really do know :). I communicate with my guides and am sensitive to my environment... I also know things about people (which even my husband use to think was misplaced judgment) their character, habits, family, problems, success and illness. I read cards, numerology, runes, palms, see auras and deal with chakra's, communicate and clear family and friends homes. I know when there is something around... I can walk into a house and tell you what the little ghost is doing around the home like moving pictures or opening/closing doors... when I say these things to people... they fall on their butt and want to know more. Just like the previous post some people label us as odd and others are really interested in the unexplained and why I could possibly know this about them and their most personal skeletons in the closet. What about you? What do you think about this question?

April, thank you for sharing your story.

This is a curious thing. On the one hand, I can understand what you're trying to say. However, it doesn't look like the people who post about being spooked out of their minds are having that much fun. They just seem to be very afraid.

Linnealand, please correct me if I am wrong but I find your responses a bit challenging and having replied to a seemingly simple post…I found that evidently I have some homework Your question was simple.

Why do you believe in ghosts, spirits, shadow people, and/or orbs, etc.?

What made you start believing in the paranormal?

Then you respond by:

april, thank you for sharing your story.

because its fun to believe in some things that you can't explain :)

this is a curious thing. on the one hand, i can understand what you're trying to say. however, it doesn't look like the people who post about being spooked out of their minds are having that much fun. they just seem to be very afraid.

It is my understanding that you can't ask a question, receive a response and then poke at it with sarcasm (if that was your intention). I am stating this with all due respect of course and please correct me if I have misinterpreted your response. I believe we went through this on my thread and you clearly indicated my similar mistake.

I never intended to respond to alber or Bonita-, I was simply saying what I felt and why I believe in the Paranormal as per your original question. I think when you ask these questions about ghosts, spirits, shadow people, and/or orbs, etc. you're not only stimulating a response of ones opinion of the unexplained but their spirituality and personal experience. I connect spirituality with religion…thereon it could evolve to more complex discussions of its relation to politics and science – that is of course how in depth you are willing to explore the idea as a learning and growing tool…I tend to exercise these ideas. I just touched the base of the subject of religion, politics, spirituality and science because I believe that they all have some interactive relevancy to each other. But that is my opinion and I didn't take up a page of post elaborating any of it. If I was being redundant and exhausting then I can see why someone would turn around and say “what does that have to do with it?” Ultimately, when you ask personal questions; you will receive personal answers so be gentle in your approach. If you require more of a direct interactive thread then it would be helpful to indicate that.

Hi, linnealand!

I would prefer not to believe in things of the paranormal, but because of things that I've experienced in my life where I couldn't come up with any possible rational explanation as to why certain things happened, I can't deny that things of the paranormal do occur.

I do think that some people are more inclined to be receptive and perhaps even sort of "magnets" to things of the paranormal happening because of what and how they believe concerning their religion and the fact that looking for things of the paranormal to happen might be something that they're drawn to do because of maybe even liking to do it.

I would think that if spirits of any kind are going to exist, then they would be looking for those who might be the most receptive to the spirits showing their presence in some way.

Just my thoughts...

Thanks!

Lol, April, I love how you think. Excellent sense of style, nice job, and great spy work. :)

Okay, after reading your post, now I realize that it might not have been as clear as I thought it was, but after I thanked you, I started talking to albear about his post. Perhaps I should have said, "albear, this is a curious thing." that would have stumped any possible confusion in its tracks. So, to resolve the question, if you thought there was any sarcasm directed toward you, that really was not my intention whatsoever.

Actually, I did appreciate your post. You seemed to be very honest, and you obviously took a nice amount of time to share and explain your feelings.

I don't discredit the idea that there is far more going on in this whole universe than our puny little brains can even begin to comprehend.

I don't have to see something with my own eyes to believe in it. For example, I've never seen New Delhi. Still, I'm quite sure it's there. I've never done any of my own research on black holes, yet I believe what the people who study them say.

The flip side of that coin is that I can't believe in something just because I see it. Think about optical illusions. Think about the tricks our senses and our minds can play on us.

I think some people might be confused as to why I'm here in this section of AMHD. I really don't believe in ghosts or things like that. Even so, I don't discredit certain possibilities. No human being on the planet earth can give any proof that they're sure they know what happens to the spirit/soul/consciousness when someone passes on. As far as I'm concerned, this goes both ways; people can't prove that the spirit disappears from our surroundings, but they can't prove that it doesn't either.

That said, I am inclined to believe that most (if not all) unexplained occurrences have a logical, rational, scientific explanation. If they didn't, I would assume there would be some kind of proof for supernatural occurrences that would hold enough water to be accepted by the scientific community. They don't have a conspiracy to keep any potential *real* evidence from being accepted.

If these things happen as much as many people believe they do, it should be easy enough to give some kind of proof somewhere, right? Well, every time someone comes out with their latest "proof," and it's unusual enough to be studied by neutral scientific parties, a logical explanation is found first.

Many of these attempts at giving "proof" are found to be flat out dupes. Some people think that they can get attention or cash from falsifying "proof," be it through manipulated séances, invented stories, or falsified images in photographs and videotape.

Then there are others who, whatever reason, are more inclined jump to irrational conclusions instead of accepting a much more probable answer. Let's say we see a small, "unidentified" circular thing in a photograph. Is it a spiritual orb or the ghost of someone who loves you? Or is it more likely to be a moth, a dust particle, or dirt on the lens?

The dupes are one of the aspects that upset me so much about the kinds of things people who might be hurting enough to believe will accept. For instance, if someone is really having a hard time with the death of a loved one, they might go to see a psychic. Is it possible that some psychics are actually sensitive enough to pick up on things that most others can't? Sure. In fact, there are many police forces that use mediums as a last resort for unsolved cases. What's fascinating is that many of these mediums are able to provide information that would be statistically impossible to just guess. I'm really curious to know more about these situations.

Of course, not all of them are like that. Many (if not most... or I'll say almost all, which is still fairly generous) psychics are out there to make a buck, and they'll do anything they can think of to make that happen. I'm just sickened when I hear of someone whose life has fallen to shreds because they gave away their entire life savings to pay for whatever some trickster promised they would get from it. The worst thing is that this happens all the time.

These stories can get even more tragic when it comes to charlatan "healers." some of them will claim to be able to cure a person's cancer, remove a tumor without surgery, everything you can imagine and more... even if that means that this person might believe them so much that they will not go for proper treatment from medical doctors.

There are a whole lot of people out there who will claim that they can exorcise a home that didn't actually have anything truly unnatural going on in there in the first place. Not cool.

So what do the fakes have to do with the possibility of the "real deal"? For starters, there are so many fakes out there that it's impossible not to correlate them with the field of "supernatural cures." this means that most of the time people call for help, a charlatan steps in to "take care" of the problem.

I think anyone who is dealing with something that they themselves can't explain would do a whole lot better to call in a scientist than a magician. I absolutely hate it when someone who is in a weak position is taken advantage of emotionally, psychologically, financially, etc..

There are only so many reasons one wouldn't do that in the first place. These might include (1) they made up the story; (2) they actually believe so assuredly in the supernatural that they just assume the situation must be handled by someone who claims to delve in supernatural solutions; (3) they so want to believe that these things are real that they're willing to override any possible scientific explanations; or (4) they're so entrenched in communities of other people with similar beliefs that it doesn't even occur to them that science might have an answer first.

I'm not here to knock other people's beliefs or to poke fun of them for no reason. That's not my style, and I don't think that would be appropriate.

However, I am here to see if there's anything I can do to suppose logical, rational, medical, psychological and/or scientific explanations for the things people come here to ask about. If I can alleviate someone's fears with a reasonable thought or a logical explanation, well... I could only hope for something like that.

What upsets me is that a good deal of the people who come here seeking advice are scared out of their minds because they've been led to believe that something is haunting them.

We shouldn't forget that there are also religious institutions that are built on sick minds or people who want to make themselves powerful and rich by taking advantage of others.

I believe in the scientific method. I also believe in Occam's razor, which is most popularly known as, "All other things being equal, the simplest solution is the best." here are some links to better understand the steps of the scientific method: define:scientific method - Google Search (http://www.google.it/search?num=50&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=pfP&defl=en&q=define:scientific+method&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title;) Scientific method - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_method). Here is a link for more information on Occam's razor: Occam's razor - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor)

The reason I opened this thread is because I would like to get a sense of what makes believers believe in the supernatural (or at least the believers on this site). I am not here to criticize. I am just a very curious cat, and I would like to have a better understanding of the situation in here. I find all of this very interesting, and I like to hear from people who are different than me.

I am a bit fascinated by the whole topic of believers and their explanations. I have a thread that I don't think I've had any hard-core believers respond to, and I would like to know how your beliefs explain this question I've had rolling around in my mind called "Old Homes and Really Old Homes". Here's the link: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/paranormal-phenomena/old-homes-really-old-homes-278503.html.

I'm also curious to know the reasons believers might think explain different phenomena. For example, I have asked why "shadow people" wear fedora hats. One might think it's a silly question, but I don't think so. There would have to be a reason for it, right? Why would so many of them be "seen" wearing fedoras? Are they all men? Why would they wear clothes at all? If they want to wear hats, why would they be in that particular style? The fedora stems from a particular era. I don't know. If you have an idea, I'd be happy to hear it. Here's the link to that question: https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/paranormal-phenomena/image-shadow-people-279794.html.

Sincere thanks to anyone who cares to share their reasons or motivations.

Not everyone feels the same way.

It does not take much effort for me to describe my thoughts and feelings, spitting out quickly, if I have spent over two minutes elaborating my feelings then yes that effort be apparent; having not it seems that could be my short coming this time around (LOL) but I have gone through this type of subject so many times on this site :). Oh, and thanks to you I have learned the spy work, sort of an adoptive newly skilled trade :D. It is not undeniable that science and human energy can explain things over spirituality... ghosts/spirits etc... this is where I put that the subjects are all relevant. Not all homes are haunted but rather project excess energy from the owner or hold energy from past traumatic events... clearing has been used and will work effectively, that is, if we truly believe it is possible... as you suggested regarding natural healing methods being used over modern technology for health related purposes. The reason why psychic's are so interesting is because they are creative and can follow intuition... they are not rational/logical thoughts or explanations... its a plunge in the water for most of us.

True enough though, no one feels the same way about this subject... that's the beauty of it... we would never grow if we didn't have differences in the world.

Mixed feelings here. I'm trained in the sciences. I also have religious beliefs that transcend systematic testing of a hypothesis. Typical me. In the middle.

I have just one experience. I woke up once in the house I lived in as a child. My bedroom was directly over the half of the house that had a basement area. I got up and immediately felt drawn to go downstairs, almost called to go. At the door to the basement, I stopped. I felt like there was evil there. Couldn't bring myself to turn the knob.

Went back to bed. Eventually fell alseep. The next day I went downstairs when it was daylight. After that, I always avoided going down to the basement as much as I could when it was dark. I never had that sensation again, but I had some fear I guess. I didn't see anything. Didn't feel a coldness. But I did have a sudden irrational fear that seemed real and relevant... at least when I was standing there with my hand inches from the doorknob, trying to force myself to just open the damn door.

When searching for a new home, many years later, with my wife she said to me "if we find a house we love but it creeps me out for some unexplainable reason, please dont be mad"... and I said "i completely understand"...

So... I'm not necessarily a believer. But just as I scoff at the talk about Chi energy flow in eastern medicine, but marvel at the results of acupuncture and herbal treatment, I do believe evil exists, and I don't believe I know all there is to this world.

I'm with you on these things. I also happen to be a little monkey in the middle.

I do believe in God. I believe in a soul.

I have had some experiences in my life that I really can't begin to explain.

I feel like I have a sixth sense about people, places, feelings, events and more.

I think that there are far more more things happening than we can ever imagine. I think that's where much of my faith lies.

I fall to science if there's a simpler explanation. I think science and God are related (maybe not in the way that we know science, I don't know, but I believe there is math in the universe).

So I'm not going to discount the possibility of anything being real.

Science as we know it comes into play when there is a simpler, more logical explanation available. If we didn't use it for these reasons, we could just as well say the "shadow people" did it. Did you lose your keys? Elves.

There are plenty of times on these boards when I don't have any explanation for what's been asked. Part of that might be that not enough information has been given. Part of that might be because there is no logical explanation. But some of the time, there's an answer that's so obviously connected to logic or science that you can figure out the most likely cause after only one small post. I think that all of us have to be careful sometimes that we don't let our imaginations or our desires sweep us away. There's no harm in double checking.

I wrote down a little phrase the other day that made me giggle: have faith in science.

Then listen to your gut.

* by the way, have any of you ever read/listened to Deepak Chopra? He's an endocrinologist, but he has the most amazing approaches to mind and body relationships. I'm a big, big fan.

Scientists might not be able to explain everything, and they can also make mistakes, but it's silly to say that science knows nothing.

Let's take a look at your question.

The same thing has happened to me a countless number of times.

Why do you think that man wakes up at 3:30?

Even while sleeping, the mind continues to work. As the man wants to awaken at a certain hour, part of his mind remains conscious of the time.

Our bodies have a natural sense of time. When we learn to apply that sense to a fixed system of numbers, in this situation as related to our clocks, that sense becomes even more refined.

Take a look at circadian rhythms and chronobiology.

Circadian rhythm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circadian_rhythm)

Chronobiology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronobiology)

I believe in ghosts and my boyfriend does not. We often have this debate, but I really think that people feel better when they can put a face on fear. When you get scared at night most of the time you're scared of the unknown. If ghosts don't exist, which as I said I think they do, I think it's possible that people imagine them because it's much easier to put a face on fear, or a known on an unknown.

Really? Why do we carry watches then? Do you have an alarm clock in your sleepening room?

Why does the science call it parapsychology? You know what "para" means in Latin! "False"! So, the science is nothing but another type of religion.

I would call science "physic". So everything else I would call "methaphysic". The Methaphysic works 24 hours a day.

Questions for you to think, linnealand:

1. How is our spirit acquired?
2. What stage of fetus development is spirit acquired?
3. What happened to spirit once the brain dies?
4. How come most animals have better senses than human? (science said that human is most developed in evolution!? )
5. What is the dream?
6. why do we need to sleep at least 6 hours/24 hour cycle?
7. How come I dream about some (number of) faces I have never seen??

I shell stop here. I don't want to kill you by these questions. Since just those 7 questions can kill pretty much anybody!

LOL thanks for your answers.

Well I am not trying to jump in and rescue Linnealand but I do think she has a point too. The body does have a natural way to detect time…it is a subconscious effort. The thing is about the subconscious is we can only come up with reasons to explain things like dreaming, allusive states, astral travel and psychic ability. Science in many ways is a religion, I can agree because it helps us explain our daily lives to better understand ourselves and our environment. Science I believe is also a way of life…physics, astrology it all coordinates somehow and somewhere…even the vast amount of cultures god/goddess. I am a believer and I am a refined catholic and I believe in things that science can and can not explain some things…but I do follow my intuition firstly (being the creative and right brained person I am). Still though science is mans survival as well…how we can fight cancers and find cures still amazes me…the dissection of humans to understand how everything works…is it a religion? Or is it survival? I don't know…you have definitely given me a lot to think about.

We carry watches to keep us on track…of course it is not difficult for humans to get carried away in the hustle and bustle of each day (especially us right brained thinkers LOL) but it is also a way to maintain order (organization) in our lives. You can start getting into stone hedge and all those miraculous places in the world that are thought to assist in telling time.

Question 1, 2 & 3 are questions that are very personal and opinionated your daring to challenge :) I think everyone is entitled to feel differently so maybe state what you think about your own questions, you are very intriguing and I would love to hear more.

The question is survival when it comes to animals (including us) what each organism, plant, animal, bacteria, insect etc. needs to survive it adapts to its environment for just that. As humans we have the ability to invent things to assist us.

As we go through life, our bodies get into a 24-hour cycle called the circadian rhythm. And as darkness falls, the brain's pineal gland naturally secretes a chemical called melatonin, which makes us feel drowsy. Our bodies are usually at their peak temperature just before sleep, which will start to lower as we fall asleep. Erratic schedules, stimulants, stress, drugs, and other factors can alter this sleep schedule and wreak havoc on our system's natural ability to rejuvenate itself.

The nice thing about this question is no one is right and no one is wrong…its just an exchange of difference of opinions to expand our awareness and become open to receiving new and innovative ideas.

Question 1, 2 & 3 are questions that are very personal and opinionated your daring to challenge :) I think everyone is entitled to feel differently so maybe state what you think about your own questions, you are very intriguing and I would love to hear more.

However, there is ONLY ONE answer to ONE question. As soon as we go on the ground that the answers are personal and opinionated, we lost it! We lost the right answer. And I am looking for THE RIGHT and UNOPINIONATED answer. So, science knows not a thing about our being and surroundings (The Universe). What science knows is technicality of our system. And not even there close enough. Cancer, AIDS, Immune system diseases... (linneland's) science is just tottaly blind about it!

Couple of hundreds years ago science WAS SURE that the Globe was flat! They burned people who did think differently! I am sick of that science.

Yet today, in era of electronics, huge science technology development we still HAVE TO work 5 days a week!? NO thanks, I DO NOT NEED SUCH A SCIENCE. Find me a way that we work three days a week, and have 4 days for life! Please. :-))

The question is survival when it comes to animals (including us) what each organism, plant, animal, bacteria, insect etc. needs to survive it adapts to its environment for just that. As humans we have the ability to invent things to assist us.

The survival is another BIG b/s of the science. Have you seen the picture of Darwin? Go, look at. You'll immediatelly understand why such a monkey development theory about origin of the men! :)

:) I think everyone is entitled to feel differently so maybe state what you think about your own questions, you are very intriguing and I would love to hear more.

Ok. Methaphysics can answer all questions.

1. How is our spirit acquired?

Through our brain cells. Special cells have ability to acquire the energy from Universe. Spirit is ENeRGY. Period.

2. What stage of fetus developement is spirit acquired?

3 months after fetus was conceived.

3. What happened to spirit once the brain dies?

Energy has been released (coz cells are dead and lose the skills of binding the energy) and goes back to The Universe. Just get dissolved into the Universal energy. So, reincarnation is just wishfull thinking of some "scientists". Lol

4. How come most animals have better senses than human? (science said that human is most developed in evolution!??)

Because science is a religion who knows not a thing! Human IS NOT the most developed in the world. Human is the least developed! The fact: the more developed stage of creatures in so-called evolution, the most troublesome on Earth! Who is the most dangerous for the life on earth? You answer this one. Amoebas? Strawberries? Woodpeckers? Deer? Human?

5. What is the dream?

It is our energy of the will that brings some information to our consciousness when all our senses are off. Energy deos not recognise time nor distance boundaries. There is not present, future or past for energy! (I have whole theory developed about this).

6. why do we need to sleep at least 6 hours/24 hour cycle?

To recharge the enegry of our spirit that was drained out by our senses. That process of recharging is lengthy and varies from perosn to person, but 6 hours is minimum.

7. How come I dream about some (number of) faces I have never seen???

Because energy of will strolls around the globe and visit different places and people, and brings that information to my mind/consciousness. So, the people I dreamt about are real. They exist somewhere, or they were existed, so my energy was visiting them!

Now you have a lot of to think about! LOL

Haha, that's a bold statement Racunovodja, I like your zest:). I think there are various answers to your one question since there are so many people around the globe who feel differently and/or passionately about it. I believe there is no right answer and when you say you're looking for the right answer and a non-opinionated one you have already placed onus on the fact that there are no other possibilities. The controversial questions that you asked will stimulate different answers and opinions…this doesn't mean that the right answers are lost…it just means we all evolve, adapt to new ideas and concepts – differently and independently from each other. This would also justify the idea of a flat earth and that if the boats floated too far off that they would fall off the earth. They had no concept because they where afraid and did not explore…science is theory and experimentation; trial and error until there is a pattern, correct calculation, similar responses whatever…thus leaving each generation information and the opportunity to advance further…we are constantly learning.

My last statement of “The nice thing about this question is no one is right and no one is wrong…it's just an exchange of difference of opinions to expand our awareness and become open to receiving new and innovative ideas.” This does not apply to science, it applies to each individual responding to your questions:).

I think your answers to 1, 2 and 3 is interesting but like I was saying everyone believes in something different and I also have a different opinion on them. You are definitely entitled to what you say as I am, if you will.

I believe EVERYTHING is composed of energy so for our brain cells to take energy (absorb) from the environment would make sense…this would explain a lot of relationships between people, places and things. You say that the spirit is acquired from the universe…this is very interesting concept and many religions believe this since god/goddess is the universe…the life source – so I agree with that. Upon a persons passing, the carcass goes in the ground leaving the energy to the earth but the spirit goes back to the universe…I agree with that to…but then there are people who believe in heaven and hell…I am catholic so I was taught all my life that I was to go to heaven after death. Definition of heaven can be debatable because heaven is what you want it to be…the universe if you wish.

Some people will say that a fetus will obtain the spirit once it is conceived, others 3 months and others at birth. Since a fetus doesn't start to dream until 27 weeks how that would be explained? Is it possible that in the 7th month a fetus can obtain its spirit since it has the ability to dream (lucid/astral travel)? I remember the day my daughter was born, I saw her come out but nothing until I saw her take her first breath of air and scream…is this the time? I tend to believe it is but it is arguable to some, especially when these other ideas are presented. I don't think science can explain the spiritual experience because spirituality is a different concept. Science doesn't even explain that spirituality exists…it logically explains things, that's it…this is why I consider myself to be spiritual being, however, I can't deny that some things can be explained while others not.

I can start pulling out biographies on animals but the truth is they have adapted to their environment for survival. I am not a biologist by any means but every species has their strengths and weaknesses; just as we do. We are not by any means more or less evolved (and if I said that I should have clarified it a bit more)... actually I think we are at the bottom of the food chain after viruses and bacteria…the only reason we survive is because of our ability to invent and grow technologically. I also believe that we are the most self destructive animals on this planet…waging war and nuclear bombs.

Then you quote me:

"As we go through life, our bodies get into a 24-hour cycle called the circadian rhythm. And as darkness falls, the brain's pineal gland naturally secretes a chemical called melatonin, which makes us feel drowsy. Our bodies are usually at their peak temperature just before sleep, which will start to lower as we fall asleep. Erratic schedules, stimulants, stress, drugs, and other factors can alter this sleep schedule and wreak havoc on our system's natural ability to rejuvenate itself."

Then you reply:

“I AM scientist myself, so I know what I am talking about. I don't want to comment the one above.”

Then you answer:

“to recharge the enegry of our spirit that was drained out by our senses. That process of recharging is lengthy and varies from perosn to person, but 6 hours is minimum.”

I disagree. As it goes for dreaming that also takes me back to receiving spirit at 27 weeks of a fetus…not 3 months as you suggest. Also its not 6 hours at a minimum for the “average” person…how much sleep we need varies with our age and emotional/physical fitness. Infants will typically need 16 hours of sleep each day; while toddlers (ages 1-3) may need between 10-12 hours of sleep; and by the teenage years, this can decrease to 9-11 hours of sleep a night. As adults, how much sleep we need per night can vary from 6-10 hours, but most experts seem to recommend 7-8 hours per night.

Finally you said:

“b/c energy of will strolls around the globe and visit different places and people, and brings that information to my mind/consciousness. So, the people I dreamt about are real. They exist somewhere, or they were existed, so my energy was visiting them! ”

I couldn't agree more, I can relate because I astral travel and lucid dream. I have A LOT of dejavu's…I saw my daughter before she was even conceived…I remember telling my husband about her overalls and piggy tails and how cute this little girl was but wasn't sure if she was mine…three years later it hit me when we where in the kitchen of our new house. I use to dream about going to school and then switching schools 2 years later met everyone and my husband there…I even went to my husbands parents house and knew how to get there before he gave me directions…coincidence I think not. I totally agree with the spirit traveling leaving the soul and energy in its home, the body.

I actually never disagreed with you at all, I agree with you on most of it – just a few differences of opinions.

Linnea - i wrote down a little phrase the other day that made me giggle: have faith in science.

then listen to your gut.

One of my fav lines is simply

"absence of proof is not proof of absence"

I like it not just for its meaning, being the science geek I am, but I also appreciate the writing... simple, tight... a litterary statement perhaps that william of ockham might approve, at least in its abandoment of unnecessary adornment.

Wish I couldve heard you giggle.

It's beautiful.

You're right.

I love everything you said about it. :)

I believe because I am sensitive and have always found it fascinating ( it meaning ghosts and spirits) to have something so wonderful that people are so afriad of.
