How can I find out who owns a property

To find out who owns a property you go to the local county clerk's office and do a search. The county clerk may offer this online.

Depending on the state you are located, you might be able to look it up online. In Maryland it is public record. Check with a local title company or real estate agent as they will be able to give you an answer based on your location. It varies state to state.

As has already been mentioned, this kind of information might be available online.

Around where I live, this kind of information is available online at the county or even city websites. It's listed under the County Assessor link. All I have to do is put in the address and then I can find out the information.
