I have a Cyberhome DVD player, a Zenith VCR, and an RCA television. I also have Directv. How can I hook up both the DVD player and VCR to my satellite box and TV?

Hello
I don't recommend anyone fallow anything that I say here. I am only listing what I would do. If I loose a limb I won't be looking for someone else to blame either.
Now that's out of the way.
First I want to say if you get a TV from Stuff-Mart you need to make sure they are providing adequate connections on the back. At the very least you should have Inputs: RF, Component Video, Line 1, Line 2 Also Outputs: Audio Left & Right
One thing that won't differ is the DVD Player and or DVD Recorder output that should be connected to the TV Component Video Input with a $30+ Component Video Cable that consists of 3 RCA type plugs Red-Green-Blue Video and Red-White for Audio
Not all TVs have Component Video Inputs, if not the DVD Line out > to Line 2 In
Not all TVs have Line 2 Inputs, If not then you absolutely need either a new TV or a Game or Device Switch.
A Game or Device Switch cost around $20 and up with some models having remote switching on the high end around $100 They will normally have 1 set of outputs (Red RCA for Right Audio) (White RCA for Left Audio) (Yellow RCA for Video) and 1 RF Coax Cable
Recording
Sat > VCR > TV OK
Sat > DVD-R > TV OK
DVD > VCR > TV VCR OK DVD Copy Guard Activated
VCR > DVD-R > TV DVD-R OK VCR Copy Guard Activated
Copy Guard Activated = Bright then Dark Picture arounddd every 20 to 30 Seconds
The Best Way Is to get a Copy Guard Stripper for around $50 and a DVD-Rercorder for $130 and up making sure it has a digital tuner then:
Sat > VCR > Copy-Guard-Stripper > DVD-R > TV or
Sat > DVD-R Line 1 > TV
VCR > Copy-Guard-Stripper > DVD-R Line 2 > TV
Then your all set to start moving all your Old VHS Tapes over to DVD-R for safe keeping
Because Tape should not be trusted beyond 10-20 years, DVD-R aare good for 50+ years if kept cool & dark
***Sorry it can't be more simple than this but,
the fact is there are so many variables in place that this is it.****
