My partner (defacto) and I are both Australians working in the US on separate E3 visas and employed by two different companies. There is a chance that I may be made redundant and I want to understand what my options are for remaining in the US? Thanks.

You may file for change of status to other non-immigrant categories such as visitor or student.

Presumably filing 1) as a Vistor status - will only allow me to remain in the US for a maximum of 3 months and 2) as a Student status - will require me to be studying? Thank you.
