So, I plugged in my computer correctly and I turned on the Moniter and the Computer... Nothing happened... So, then, I held the power button down for awile and the computer turns on and the moniter doesn't the light beside the power button on the moniter is orange-standby. Anyway's, my computer is a Linux... I think... and the moniter is ViewSonic... Or something... I TRIED TO FIX IT SO MUCH ALL READY NOBODY KNOWS What's WRONG.

Is the monitor and "Analog" or "Digital" monitor and is it supported by the computer.

"Linux is an open architecture operating system. It is not the name of the computer. It is the name of the software loaded onto your computer.

Please look at the computer and see if the manufacturers name is on it. If not, check the rear of the unit and get the name off the metal tag on the back panel.
